| Played through the original free cavestory. It was pretty good, but maybe a bit overhyped. I have CaveStory+ on steam(from a humble bundle), but I haven't touched it as of yet.
Also, back when Animal Crossing City Folk came out, me and my sister bugged my mom to try it just for fun, and she got addicted to it. I mean like, about as hardcore addicted as someone whose like 46 at the time, and regularly the only game she plays is jewel quest. She probably played at least 1-2 hours each day, to make sure all her flowers were watered, and shiz like that. Went on for at least a year IIRC.
Edit- Also, he was talking about how a lot of SWR/Hisoutensoku is luck based on pulling the cards for upgrades/specials that you need. I've never been all too serious about /traditional/ fighters (Saying this cause I know a lot of competitive fighting game players refuse to consider melee one (See - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXgpGBbh5r8 ). I did however have quite a bit of fun casually playing the 2 aforementioned. I like the bullet-heavy style of the game.
But anyways, yah, competitive melee is fun to watch as well. I'm no where near top competitive level but I'd say I'm pretty good at melee. :3
Edit2- Also, just throwin' these out there. Bought during steam sale - Ys Origin (Been interested in playing this since I saw it during the Summer? steam sale. FTL (Made by the same guy that made spelunky, and has quite a large following from what I know. Seemed like a neat looking game so I've been avoiding spoiling anything with LP's and such) Mark of the Ninja (General high acclaim from a lot of people, and stealth games are fun) From Dust (Just somethin' I've always considered getting for a bit of fun but never bothered) Evochron Mercenary (Saw it when it came out and thought it looked kinda neat but not worth the price. Decided to buy it when it went on sale. Space sim thingy) Mount & Blade Franchise pack (Was super duper cheap on Greenman gaming, and I was mildly interested. Redeems on steam ofc.)

Did you do a normal playthrough, or a hell run? - Accidentally wrote:

| I haven't, either.
I also never had access to Kirby Air Ride, Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda, nor Disgaea.
I did play Melee obsessively, though.

I guess your DP answers my question about if it was the Muramasa I was thinking of. - Relict? wrote:

You should just go get a zsnes and play A Link to the Past (My personal favorite at least, especially if we're talking emulator, never play N64 games on an emulator.) Since this thread is becoming a massive nostalgia games of our past thread -clrly-, anyone else play the Final Fantasy Tactics series besides me? I remember getting FFTA at a toys'r'us that was closing, and they were selling everything really cheap. Played that game obsessively. They're the only Final Fantasy games I've really ever gotten into.

Never had a PSX so I only touched the original recently. It's weird though, cause I never play handheld stuff anymore. Whenever I have free time, it's usually at home where I feel like it's silly. Not as much time to play while being driven around by parents anymore and such. This isn't helped any further by the permadeath on characters.

It just takes trial and error. You have to actually hunt around for different plugins and play with the options.. for each game that you want to play. It took me a while, but I even got Kirby to play with all the layers visible. (Although, mapping the N64 buttons onto a PS2 controller also takes some finagling. I usually set up the controller differently for each game that I play.) - Accidentally wrote:

http://ffhacktics.com/ Those guys have updated the game, rebalanced it and made it MUCH more difficult than the cakewalk that it was on the PS1. For legal reasons, they only have patch downloads on their site. I used to have a torrent up at Demonoid where I had patched the actual ROM, but Demonoid got temporarily shut down again a few months ago. We're hoping to get things up and running soon, though. The tracker is back online, but there is no site to search for torrents, yet.
