- DUST 514
What could possibly make Halo better? Give it the player community from EVE Online, of course! ... In all seriousness, Dust kind of feels like an absolutely huge Halo party with more upgrade pieces guns and gadgets for your character than anyone wants to even think about. Only a first impression as I only got to try it out on a friend's PS3. It's certainly a cool game, but I'll wait for it on PC personally.

| I was a bit skeptical at first coming back to it, since the game was unbalanced as hell. Now, it's a lot less unbearable than it used to be. | |

What. Dust 514 was terribly unbalanced in the early betas, or so I hear. Thankfully, CCP goes in the right direction and actually balanced things during the beta (rather than unbalancing them and making the overpowered stuff cost money and luck like a certain game).

For Avabel I'll have to wait until March for an English edition. Excuse my lack of reading runes ability. It's an absolute sexy game. :>

| Played FE: Awakening demo, max difficulty feels more challenging than Shadow Dragon's, was so funny to watch bro fail prologue in lunatic mode over and over (then I fucking raged all over the place after hero died to a 23% hit fucking hammer in chapter 1, FFS). | |

| I downloaded Silent Storm and have been derping around as a band of homocidal Nazis.
Only 10 days left until the closed beta test of Ecol Tactics. I'm eagerly anticipating this game. It looks like a Final Fantasy Tactics game that is online. http://ecoltactics.gamescampus.com
I've also been using some of my extra free time to help my grandmother clean out her pantry. She has osteoporosis and hasn't been able to reach up very high for a few years. I found some scary stuff in there.. The worst has to be a tie between a quart bottle of ketchup on the top shelf that expired in 2008 and some packs of Kool-Aid that didn't have an expiration date on them, but had a copyright date of 1998.

I did this some time ago, got to the last enemy on the last level of the demo, thought for sure I was going to die, and then the enemy misses with some high hit %. And then I miss. And he misses again. And then I win. This is why I never play FE on high difficulties. They get pretty ridiculous, and then you have to sacrifice all the units you don't want in order to actually win, and everything's based on luck, so even if you do everything right, that random 1% crit or 1% miss is going to screw you over eventually. ;_; Plus my favorite units are always the ones with really bad growth rates, so I always had to abuse RNGs in order to use them effectively.

Yeah, that pretty much sums up max difficulty modern FEs and the reason why Genealogy of the Holy War and Thracia 776 will always be mah favorites. Oh, and SRW, 2nd SRW OG is epic beyond words. Picked up RO after years of quitting since qqnomorek1. Renewal's changes in GUI, quests, mobs, maps and derived stats calculation (PATK, DEF, ASPD...) are pretty nice, but couldn't avoid seeing new equipment enhancement mechanics as a HUGE gap between new and old/rich players (went from a +10 max refine level to +20). $3-4 can get you a cute and useful headgear in the cash shop, $.1-.2 special refining mats to help you get that +10 or +20 piece of gear, so not expensive as certain kuso mecha action packed gayme but still.

| Just two more days left until CS hands us their version of "balance adjustments." I was hopeful, at first, but, after some more thought.. I just don't have any confidence left in me for Cyberstep. Given their track record, they'll probably just do next to nothing, but, advertise it like they did something game-changing.. "all sound and fury, signifying nothing.." - zeando wrote:

That makes me the sadface.. I'll still try it, but, I won't have my hopes up so high, now.. I heard about another turn based tactical game, today. It's called The Banner Saga and is still in development and won't be finished until the summer. http://stoicstudio.com/forum/the-banner-saga.php EDIT-Oh, I guess it's currently in Beta and you can go ahead and download it. I had to install Steam, when I said I'd never install that shit.. Oh, well.. at least it isn't as gay as Fagbook.. er.. Facebook.-EDIT I'd just like at least one game in this genre to hit the mark that FFT left. If developers keep trying, they're bound to get it right.. eventually

I'd just like at least one game in this genre to hit the mark that FFT left. If developers keep trying, they're bound to get it right.. eventually i hope so too, even if with the current action-sandbox trend it feels unlikely for some developer to put so much effort in a less popular genre like the one of FFT if only they realized that a well made combat is important but a game like FFT can't live of only that.. the guild/competitions/missions were the most interesting parts of it for me
