| I installed Windows 7 Ultimate and now I'm having a hard time opening CosmicBreak. The screen changes to 800x600 resolution and it just stays black, and no sound. So what do I do to fix this? |

| I have no idea. I've had no problems with CB on Windows 7.
If it's a fresh install, maybe update drivers and java?

If it's a fresh install, maybe update drivers and java? - Installed Graphic Drivers - Installed Java - Tried compatability modes Still nothing. Now trying Safe Mode. Safe Mode, the window shows up. Nothing is displayed inside it but black. |

Still nothing. Now trying Safe Mode. Safe Mode, the window shows up. Nothing is displayed inside it but black. Sugu pointed about UPDATE not installation. oh and PS: Make it default modes. You'll regret running them in compatibility modes later on (BSOD and stuff).

| Provide the PC specs.
Anyways, looks like something is up with either video drivers or directx. Also try DL'ing CB setting files: http://koi-sama.net/cb/cbdefsettings.zip

wut? Just my experience. Mine was getting things like that switching to Windows 7 with an integrated card. Uncle gave me free nVidia GeForce GTX 460 and BOOM! No more graphic-related problems for me.

| Ok, so you're trying to run CB on a laptop with Windows 7? Can you get the stats on your GPU? I run CB on Windows 7 fine, but my GPU is almost certainly better than yours. Did you try uninstalling/reinstalling? Other than that, double-check for the Windows Firewall pop-up; the way CB works, I don't think it'll automatically come to the front like it should; CB has a tendency to block other windows. | |

| It ran fine on Vista and integrated graphics. I don't see why it won't work on Windows 7. |

| I had this problem before O3O
My only choice was to revert it back to XP.

| 965GM should have Intel GMA x3100 or something like that onboard. And this is not an issue.
Meanwhile, do you have latest intel chipset/vga drivers? Not the ones that come from Microsoft Update.
And how are preset settings for windowed mode?

| 1.8 GHz......it's not the problem, but you should invest in a better computer with like 2.2-2.4 or a gaming computer. 1.8 Ghz computers are made for surfing and flash games.
I also use a Windows 7 laptop and it works fine.
