help with destructor Empty
PostSubject: help with destructor   help with destructor EmptyFri Jul 15, 2011 10:52 am

I am too poor to tune. Now, I want the best possible build I can have for as low UC as possible, and by that I mean soemthing low-cost with high performance.
So, does sticking a Hammer on my stock lvl 0 destructor seem good?

Please ignore Senhime.

And no, melee weapon on art isn't a good idea. (INB4SUGOIJHAMTBG)

Want a full UC Destructor? Try this:

Spoiler:

cosmicalc link

That's just a build that'd suite my personal taste, Handy Bazooka against anything in close range/Seraph, Ballistic against everything else, Grandum when you placed yourself in a good position against multiple targets.

If you want something that's far easier to play, drop Grandum BS for Victory BS, replace Ballistic with Viper Shield, replace Handy Bazooka with Large Bazooka.

Normal Destructor?

Spoiler:

10th cart your pick. I would recommend Boost Run, Stun Regain, or Sniper Sight(this is a last recourse).
Rocket Launcher over Ballistic due to less cost and no stat penalties. Ballistic can be subbed in for more power.
Grandum is for crowd control. I put 2x EIW over other carts for increased AntiAir capabilities. No tuning necessary, although it'll make this build much stronger in combat.

This works well, as long as you don't mind having a fat hitbox.

Making a high-stat destructor with a small hitbox and UC parts is quite hard, so if you really don't have the funds to tune heavily I'd use reV's build.

I didn't read it, not that it would make the slightest of difference in the build.

But man, I'm not gonna give you a poverty build, because it really isn't going to get you anywhere. Poverty art units NEVER works out, especially if it's a UC bot with not-so-impressive starting mobility stats. Think ahead, man, think long term.

Why shield, Destructor is too fat

In general, tune TEC and your choice of mobility stat. Mobility takes priority due to Destructor's good base TEC and the fact that if you're not mobile, you're toast.

reV's build is a good model. Just note that your AAmissiles will be slightly less powerful; not neutered, just slightly less powerful.

Fly + Shield = Survivability

survivability = potential dmg

True enough, but Destructor's bulk, combined with Grandum BS's gigantic hitbox extension, makes even a Viper Shield inefficient on him.
And even with reV's build's high FLY, Destructor's bulk still paints a fatass target on him.

If you DO decide to get a Viper Shield(Buckler is too small to even be considered), just get one so you can return fire with a handheld.

If you're whoring internals on CN, I'm pretty sure you don't even bother with arms in general.

No,shields always help,regardless of size.

grandum booster's shouldn't be used due to the sheer hitbox.

1 shield 1 weapons works fine though.

just be sure your weapon covers the weaknesses of your other weapon.

inb4 u whine about shields, sheilds can stop a fencer/other stunlocking melee bot or protect you from winberrls if done right

Disagreeing with this, the stats and missiles are great. If you don't care about hitbox it's perfectly acceptable to use.

high mobility on fatart isn't there to help you get away (you aren't going to out run shit one way or the other, enough fly will allow you to outrun untuned melee and those without boost run or give you enough flight time to reach higher ground, but that's about it), it's there to prevent yourself from being circle strafed by being able to somewhat keep up with your opponent when they try to flank around you, and giving you the time frame you need to reliably return fire.

I've been in situations where the shield's saved my ass from a melee bot before and I agree wholly. They aren't useful past the first, maybe second strike, though, because after that they break. And they don't work if you can't use the interval to escape. But yes, they are useful.

I think I will go with reVelskes build. I'd rather stick Mecha Jetter LGs and a Titan bazooka on it though. Ballistic can't take down seraphs.

Titan Bazooka comes with hefty penalties and insane cost.
Mecha Jetter LGs are...1)RT-only, iirc, I dunt recall the contents of UC shop and 2)last I remember, level restricted.

Doesn't mean it's trash. Aside from ammo, the weapon's own stats are great, and the massive shell is pretty much impossible to miss with unless it clips a rock or a tree.
(Large or Middle Bazookas are better in most cases though)

Why would you possibly use Mech Jetter LG? It's extra cost for a melee attack that you don't need.

And Seraphs? That's why Handy is there. As said, if you don't want Ballistic and need something easier to play, do Shield + Large Bazooka, remove Grandum for Victory BS.
