Recommendations on Ion?

Just the other day I hit the jackpot in Rose Gara and got rewardd with one beautiful water fairy - but now I really don't know what to do with her.

I didn't tune her so far but I guess as a LND type and with her carts/basic stats the most important stuff will be WLK/TEC?

Right now I just try to survive with her and level her up. My carts atm are: Raise capa. x3, Aqua Walk and of course the EIW cart she can have before Lv. 6. Her weapons atm are a buckler (AM2 switches places with Water Pot when mode changing) and an Air Slasher (AM1 fast combo + mobility stats = golden <3) but I also tried her with a Hyper Spinner (combo is ok, but the force didn't convince me), a SB Pitcher (I just like the animation ), Oar Edge (...) and a Photon Saber (spear animation - guess CS didn't enjoy PSO ;A;) and a Viper Shield (I'd prefer that one instead of the buckler anyway, but it eats the tiny Ion's tiny capa to much). The WB is nothing special I equip most of the LND types with a dual slayer or dual lance bit.

A lot of ppl say she ain't worth being gara trolled but I really like her design and battle quotes and her running in water could be an advantage on certain maps (Winterbase for example).

So what do you think one should do with Ion?

Oh and btw: what's her BD@'s dmg type? I've heard it's blast but it looks like beam to me.

Water Bazooka is pure shell, which means you get that delicious 21x2 force on anyone.

I vowed I wouldn't give builds for her unless I got her, only thing I'll say is you probably don't need anything for weapons and are best off with dual buckler. Also, she should definitely have short boost + quick land.

She hops in water. Dominate any water-main map by being where 75% of other bots can't easily go.

Ion is so nice and cute... what to do? make a cute sking and troll with her... hahahaha

for builds:
she can be used as mele bot, range bot or semi mele+range

for mele, get the sword u want, add as much wlk and str u can... Done!!

for range, get high tec + wlk and Done!

for semi mele+range, hard, get good wlk, mele and tec... (its a all purposes build)

no matter what game style u use, get Qucik Bosst!!!! she will need it. Everybody likes to use her in the range mode (high tech) I tried the semi but u will not get enought str, tec or wlk to do real good damage... something importatn is that if u chose the mele bot, u need high wlk!

weapons.... mmm.... no need for another gun, just use the core weapon, but if u go in alpha mode handy zokas and beam guns are always welcome.... for mele, air slash is always good, but Im using one that is cheaper and have long combo (dont remember the name, but is a sword that has a hole in the center, and one of the combo hit is a back slash, so she does a nice dash!!!)

Hopper. Dual Bucklers, Short Boost + Quick Jump/Land.

Quick Boost is a luxury when you're a hopper due to the fact that a single Short Boost drains little from the gauge. Quick Jump should let you hop indefinitely, but if not, get Quick Boost. Quick Boost is also useful for recharging your gauge quickly if you have to fly, or recharging for quick hopping and evasion.

Make sure you charge your Ion in a liquid environment before fighting. The buff really makes Ion hurt people that much more. Note that a Lava environment will charge Ion's buff as well as Water.

No,quick boost is a very very important luxury,more important that quick jump.

It lets you hop indefinitely,and reduces the harms nicoles cause

If it works for you, who cares? Both have their merits. Quick jump has more general functionality. I would rather take it on a boost run build though.

Hm. I've not noticed that, but I guess thats to be expected as I haven't worked with Short Boost yet.
Even so, normal running can suffice for movement and evasion. It won't give the evasive ability of Short Boost, I know, but it's better than nothing.

...Hm. I just thought that Nicole could be a hard counter to any bot who combines Boost Run and either Float Dash or Short Boost, as that bot will be reliant on it's boost gauge for any type of movement other than walking.

You can also build her around that buffing AM which is pure gold against annoying status like slow, paralyze and bad booster.

what the hell?! Costa Rica in south america?! oh my god.... i though all my life that i was living in central america....

This is exactly the thread I was looking for after getting Ion on my first ever gara roll I've only been playing about a week so I'm still not so sure what's what but getting her has made this game so rediculously fun that I thought I better put some effort into her. Couple of questions, 1. when you say hop do you mean spamming short jump evades or using boost jumps and 2. is it worth tuning her TGH at all because I tend to use her to rush the fat arts and she gets stunned rather easily by the odd shot from behind.

btw, hopping wont fit your playstyle of ion according to your description of what you do

Oh, thanks for that glad I found that out before I spec'd her for that then. Would it be better to use boost run instead then to limit their ability to track me or should I just use 2x internal, sword guard, blast guard and blow the rest on cap cartridges to give me more room for WLK and TEC tuning?

I read all the suggestions and for now I guess I'll rlly go for an all-purpose-build.

BTW: this is just my semi-nubbish opinion, ut I think any build centered arround her BD@ or AM2 will be hard to play b/c of the limited ammo those weapons come with :/
