Dive bot recommendations, Builds. Empty
PostSubject: Dive bot recommendations, Builds.   Dive bot recommendations, Builds. EmptyMon May 18, 2015 4:58 am

I have decided I want to make a dive bot for arena (crowd jumping jackass) but have no clue on even where to start so I'm asking for suggestions for such a bot build. I actually have some bots that I have tried using as a basis but again I would like opinions on what would be ideal. To be clear I don't want to run anything such as Eris or Ivis but rather something like Mighty Byne.

List of some Large land bots I have:

- Machintlet ||
- Blazed baron FF
- Lancerlot A
- Daedalion B.C.
- Scargent Burai

Normally I wouldn't ask about this kind of stuff but I looked lots of places on the forums and even the official forums for advice but every post I found with suggestions is from like 2011 or 2012 and I'm pretty sure a lot of what they suggest is outdated. I was actually planning on getting a Mighty Byne for 35RT on the shop and tune for being a dive bot. However, the RT one in the shop is only 2 slot, I went to cosmic calc and constructed a Mighty Byne build and in the end I got his WLK to 30, TGH to 30 (don't know if this is too high?) and his STR to 35. I don't know if TGH should ever be that high on anything, even dive bots but yea. So basically I'm asking for recommendations on bot parts, weapons, or which bots would be more suited for diving.

For weapon, Dae B.C AM or Baron FF AM are good choice (no idea how gud is machintlet AM2). The problem is both don't cover much of distance, so you will need a BS or core with movement sub (Zero breaker from old limited UC gara is a good choice).

For core, one with fast recovery is needed, since you will want to tune CV for this kind of build (cant CC+), thus no clearance. Baron or Lancerlot are best choice from your list, machintlet has great capa but no fast recovery, Dae has sad capa. You can take the K-shield and equip on the build btw.

No comment on Burai.

If you plan to use dae bc AM, you will have to use a core or LG with lower height. It won't hit targets smaller than you.

Machintlet II is bad

do as fggt suggestion
and mayb you need to sacrifice one slot on weapon for eternal tune too
cause when your weapon broke , you cant do shet and become useless

Also, an Eternal tune is 110% recommended because Daedalion BC's AM breaks 110% of the time.

As far as I know Machintlet II AM sucks horrible(do not attempt), Scaregant Burai's tools aren't much meant for real crowd diving, Lancerlot A's parts can be useful(his K-Aegis is interesting choice of shield, and his Lance AM is mediocre crowd-diving weapon), Daed B.C. needs to be very tanky enough to deal Brave Drive + 1 hit bat swing(not to mention his cost is so high to even fit tunes lol), so that usually leaves Blazed Baron FF, which is one of good bot that can rarely lose on dogfight by using Hyper Shot.(either BDrive combo or sword swing itself)
Also, you have to be aware that most of dive bots(except Baron FF, cuz his AM has to be ignited with burn status) use core with extemely high capacity(Brigand Baron BD) or exceptional base stats(Daedalion BD) to begin with. Not to mention, Lancerlot AM2 shield is a "must" to carry around to increase its fighting efficiency to protect yourself from projectile games(this will require you to have Short Boost as mandatory, btw).

Also, if you are dive bot, please take Fast Recovery as mandatory, since you will be dumped with lots of debuffs that will prevent you to dive and deal damage to people(i.e. Shock lol)

Once you dive with L bot like those, do not expect you will make out alive in ANY case. You are already a big target to begin with, and easily be eliminated/jammed by a single or two units expecting you. The concept of crowd dive is to make damage exchanges and kills with high damages from sheer brute force as much as possible with generally high HP.

As for all people who loves crowd diving, death be with you.

Ah yes I knew machintlet was weird to use and just plain hard ot hit anything but had to be sure, honestly I forgot to take burai off this list. Yea, the baron sounds like the one I would use. I've b een testing the K-shield and it's really cool, best shield I've ever used.

Would Mighty Byne arms be something to consider? Or is there better things out there such as the barons AM and the lancerlots AM?

Byne AM? nope
If you don't have much AM alternatives to use around, Red Squealer AM you pick up @ UW result screen turns out to be efficient AM to use for chain combos.

Ah ok, good to know, and also saving me 35RT, thanks! Also never thought of using Fast Recovery, sounds pretty good! I actually tried duel red squealer arms on a Machintlet body, it was actually kinda cool but then got stun locked to hell.

Yea, the k Shield is pretty badass. I tested the Baron FF in arena a couple times and man that thing hurts even untuned, definitely gonna use the baron I think.

So in that case, is it viable to tune TGH past 30? Or is that a bad idea in general?

it comes down to what the rest of the build looks like.

high TGH on a bot that is using revenge tunes is counterproductive. If you want boost TGH, you'll want fast recovery, since you can't make use of clearance tunes.

basically HP comes first. If I had to choose between 20tgh and 700hp or 35tgh and 600hp, I'd take 700HP.

I'd aim for something like 40str, 700~hp, and 20tgh, and then put everything else you have into more tgh.

about TGH/revenge tunes, the best setup for a crowd diver is:

>base TGH
>CV tunes
>Fast Recovery
>Over 800hp with drive

Makes sense, I just was never sure if health or TGH was best but as they say, "you can't do damage if your dead".

See now that we have been talking about this, base TGH makes much more sense now. Tuning HP will a first for me cause I never had the grounds to do it, but awesome all this will be educational for me.

So like I went and tested a few robo builds with Daedalion as a base BD, and man K shield with red squealer arm is actually really cool. Grappler is something I've been thinking about too, because if I'm not mistaken, grappler doesn't make your attacks faster but rather you lunge at your enemy faster?

Edit: Some more bots I forgot I had:

- Combat Freed
- Domiclown Quoit
- Gigant Arms
- Wardus
- Lucca Decho

maybe stats, but not much for maneuver-wise

the best LND melee HD is Bugsycait HD2, cost-wise, and stat-wise all-efficient and exceptional

Bugsycait Boom; Bugsycait HD2

35 Cost 25 HP for +2 STR +2 WLK and +2 TGH in exchange of -1 TEC(which is irrelevant to melees)
