| well assuming you play exteel and your avatar is what I can remember, I can see you are used to playing rear line , there is nothing bad in playing rears though, maybe get something like an art, or play right click alba | |

Yep, I was among the earliest Exteel English players(day 1, wave 1, CB 1)...my avatar was my main bot there; built entirely around 2 Rocket Launchers, and the ability to essentially keep them constantly firing thanks to cooldown vs fire ratios on the setup.... I have a few decent arts, and am particularly fond of my Stealth/Sniper Saggi Max and a Destructor Max...yeah, i don't do medium/small bots particularly well.... :\

| if you're doing small arts they should be antipersonnel if anything
get a build arm, make it fast, give it core breaker. anything that comes at you has to eat stuns first. if you die, who gives a shit
alternatively, most zooks (blow is best)

alternatively, most zooks (blow is best) I actually also have a few setups that are barely even 'concept' builds for this; most centered on keeping the size as small as possible while maximizing dps on a single target vs ammo/range...yeah, I don't freakin' need Cosmic Calc when I generally crunch most of the numbers in my head...on the fly.... ...it's one of the few positive benefits to come out of my Aspergers Syndrome; I can literally 'see' the plans in my head as I form them as...well, animated images with the info I want right there...of course, I often end up over-analyzing things instead of just going with what 'feels' right...hard to find a balance, isn't it? I've actually got a complete Build Arm in the sub-garage, I believe...have to check it.... =edit= On a semi-related note, I noticed last night, after a few matches, that the melee-bot I'd thrown together(Cosmo Kaiser Bd, Byne Am2s[non pilebunkers], Squealer lgs, Viper Shield, and a Jet Hammer, complete with Broad Radar) actually seem to be useable on maps in a -defensive- melee role...with it's Broad Radar, I can lie in wait for an unwary bot to chase after an ally...then smash his face in....

Core Breaker is bad. Compare it to Structure Breaker, it adds like 16 force for pretty minor drawbacks in comparison.

| Im am a penta and now i have to deal with the op jimmy boys in pvp. My guild/clan told me to try rolling support but im not sure if its gonna cut it in this situation. I roll nicole malice. Easy and funny to chase runners who try to boost away. Sadly i need a "good" bot if its just one im k with it. I may need to find a stronger support or somthing but i also need more damage. I have been playing for 2 weeks and its been tough. I was also garatrolled -_- so I wanna kick some ass. | |

| Nicole's actually a pretty good Support type; even the UC Gara one(with no slots to mod) can be quite useable...and yeah, it REALLY annoys airs! | |

I mean, I still wanna be able to help in other ways(and have at least found a tiny little niche' in my Mach Knight Ace w/ Cross Raptor Ams)...but maybe I need to consider staying with what I know.
Short, but hopefully a thought-provoking question...advice, anyone?
p.s.: Thanks for the compliment, Macropyre(spelling?)...it really helped, even if I didn't say anything about it then.... never enough support players, mike. c : at least. never enough support players that actually know how to play a support.
like, i don't know how to play one as successfully as other people. but i never really want to since i always just want to shoot at other bots.
i mean, if you know how to play a certain unit better than anyone else, why bother trying to branch out into other stuff? i think that came out a bit dumb, but i hope you know what i mean.
you can also try to learn to play other units slowly if you really, really want to. but still have your main support bot that you excel with in your commando to fall back on.
hang in there, mike.

ah...from what i've heard. crimrose b. is pretty authentic...! as long as you don't upgrade her.
i got crim-chan. so, i got a chibi over an actual fighting robot.
i feel that my depression runs deeper than yours. also, this is a little used acc. like you said.
crim-chan was on my main and only account. :I what did you even get for your main account?

| My main got a 'Berll Vesca, which is actually one of the better non-Regina models, according to friends...it's forward firing vines can bring rushers to a screaming halt, allowing me plenty of time to hightail it out of there...just gotta consider how to set her up, given my constant poor-ness.... On a more concerning note is the fact that, with all the moe-ness now infesting the lower ranks and lower Br-rating rooms, I'm REALLY screwed...Brd account(still diamond) is about to dip into the 2.7s, Dos acct is barely hanging onto 3.8-3.9 I believe, and my main's above 4.0-4.1 for now.... I'm living proof that having better bots(even if it's only a few) does NOT = better Br...and nothing I've done to date has helped me improve any...the Elisa(original blonde)I have is utterly useless to me(would GLADLY trade it for a Pulsardio Gamma if the bazaar allowed it)! ...can I keep dreaming for a handicap system to be implemented one day? ...or maybe a -REAL- lesson area, featuring, say, tutorial missions for various bot types and playstyles? It couldn't possibly be that hard to create, could it? *sigh* Anyway, with the ridiculous cost of the UC Gara DX(32k for 20 rolls...really, CS?!), I've given up any hope of getting much nice from that anytime soon.... ...about the only good thing to happen recently is seeing the new Crim in action...and I -think- I've about worked out some kinks in it's armor, so to speak.... *ponders* | |

Nicole makes a good support; even the UC Gara one(with no slots) can annoy the bajeezus out of airs! A lot of it all comes down to if you want to be an offensive support or defensive one; Nicole and Bugsycait(especially with Short Boost) are good on the former, while Pulsardio and the 'Berll family are good defenders.... A few others, like Tarantulic and certain chibis, can do either just as effectively; personally, I go defensive!
