don't worry, failing to update is very normal using JP's launcher

An alternative method would be using the PSO2 Tweaker's game update, but I would not recommend it because you become dependant on the tweaker to run the game.

Every time it fails, it records the files you have downloaded and checks itself the next time you start the client. So just fires up the launcher till you finish downloading. It will still be slow but well, faster than your last time.

Koiro's error - 想定外のエラーが発生しました translates out as "An nexpected error has occured" so I have no clue where to start looking for the problem either. I think, however, that this kind of problem usually isn't the game client's problem. Maybe you should look into ShitGameGuard's issues instead.

I hate Gameguard too. Stupid shit crippled my game last time, and I had to re-download it. AGAIN. And we all know how long it takes to download PSO2.

i got same error as koiro after installed english patch
i know some english patch is working properly since i saw some screenshot with english menu in web board

You can always use the Tweaker to restore the game back to unpatched, assuming you installed the English patch with the Tweaker.

My english patch is only for the sotry. Is there a patch that makes EVERYTHING english?

Large Files offers some of the NPC's conversations and Client Order's descriptions.

Thanks Viese. Err well my IGN for this game is the same as CB's. I'm on Ship 10 as a jewman... Braver? I think. The 4th class.

EDIT: Seeing as I fucked up the character creation, I deleted my current char and tried to make a new one. And its taking really long to load / hanged. Any way to speed this up or troubleshoot this?
