| aka how to of made cb have so much more immersion and development AKA IT HAS LITTLE TO ACTUALLY DO WITH CB BUT IF IT USED IT THAT'D BE KINDA NEAT ps smert ppl CHAPTER 1: DEVS AND THE DEVELOPMENT GRIDv let's pretend this is an accel saber arm or something. ok so let's start off from the top blue hexagons plates are your basic development spaces (referred as devs from here on out) they can be "tuned" to either armor, which shields the internals themselves (this is really important so write this down) and increases your resilience by a little as well or to increase proficiency in melee or gunning. grey hexagons circles are your "joint" devs. they can be "tuned" for favoring either guns or melee weapons, internal armor as opposed to external armor, or for speed orange hexagons cirlces would be "manipulator" devs. they can either be filled with a slot to hold a weapon (one slot = you can hold a weapon, two slots open = the weapon costs less?) or they can be tuned to increase melee/gun proficiency much more than the joints would. larger parts would have more tuning space, smaller parts would have less. the diagram above would probably be how much an l part would have now that i think about it. CHAPTER 2: INTERNAL ARMORING (AND WHY IT MATTERS)let's say you're on your victory 1 and you're having a grand ol time with your ballistic launcher the external (and internal) armor are what's protecting your rotors, joints, and various other mechanical parts. if you were to have that armor run through, the chances of your arm breaking (or being damaged, which i'll go over in a sec) increase greatly therefore increasing the chance of some retarded beezle fucking your shit up and leaving you nigh defenseless damaged = it's capabilities are halved. ie, for a melee weapon, you would swing half as fast. for a gun, auto aim would only work half as well (blessing in disguise?) CHAPTER 3: HOW IS THIS ANY BETTER THAN THE SYSTEM WE HAVEit presents a greater layer of strategy to the game as you'd have more to worry about than GOTTA GO FAST if you were to be a tanky melee, you'd have to balance between armor and speed as well as melee proficiency, that piled upon "do i enhance my melee holding arm so it doesn't break? do i minmax my shield arm since it'll break anyways?" or "should i reinforce my head since it breaks a lot?" in short, it encourages you to balance out your bot's capabilities rather than focusing on one thing by punishing you with part loss if you minmax the speed or the damage without dealing with the resistance issues criticize with all your might, i know there's a shitload of issues w/ this

| All i see is like 30 tune slots.. i don't think cb is capable of handling 30 tune slots... is this for c21 like those people are talking about above? | |

| I think you'll enjoy Mechwarrior Online when it comes out in 2012. Battletech rules have a very in depth weight / armor system for their mechs. (It'll be free to play with a cash shop.. just like CB..) | |

| What I see is the in-depth version of CB's tuning where certain tunes affect things like mobility of the part you tune, and armour deterioration ect. | |

| on one hand the hexagonal version leads to each individual tune giving less, but requiring more brainpower to figure out what's a good build that'll keep you alive and doing damage
on the other hand the plate version is horribly dumbed down but is much easier to understand
i'll have to make a compromise, the thing i wanted was for smart people to have a place in cb, aka clans have specific people as "engineers"

| because it goes nowhere else? it's got little to do with cb aside from using the same terms. you wouldn't want me to randomly flood general with shit that only loosely has any connection to to cosmic break.
btw i'm updating the op with the new picture
