SUP guide, once again ! Empty
PostSubject: SUP guide, once again !   SUP guide, once again ! EmptySun Feb 13, 2011 8:33 am

Hello everyone !

I don't know if there is already a post about that, but since the release is now here and new SUP units appeared, and as I like losing time, I'll do a summary of SUP units, with their advantages, their defaults and their play style possibilities. Once again, for this guide, I apologize for my English : I train hard, but I'm still not good ! So you're ready to help your team or.... burst everyone ?

RT/Garapon Robot list :

Winberll -basic version :
The version given to everyone. But this don't mean she's weak : She's the best anti close combat unit together with Bugsycait (as you'll see later). Unfortunately she's not really played compared to others free bots. Probably due to a lack of bo.. HP. Her cost is kinda high and she's still easy to kill. She include two main weapons and one sub weapon :
The AM, which have the same effect as draw gun : when you hit someone he's dragged in your direction. Due to the correct range, these arms are really useful to drag L sized ART units to allow your team to rape it.
The core, which root all enemies within range all around you. This is which make her a super anti close combat. Only problem is the range : enemies using Kamui staff, slash blade or every others long range close combat weapons will hurt you. Especially good on Ouka and soon on Ivis
Her cartridges are not really good unfortunately : no broad radar neither WB growth up. Yet she's Sniper sight but........

Winberll -Ouka Garapon version :
Can't be obtained anymore for now as she was is Ouka garapon. She's a copy of the basic version with two important differences : she have the broad radar cartridge, and the core sub weapon, the root, work on a cone in front of you instead of all around you. More range, but straight forward.

Winberll vesca/Winberll summer version :
Never seen in action, so I'll let people having it to tell us what she can/can't do.

Pulsardio – basic&garapon version :
The King of annoyance with a big K. Never wondering why sometimes, on the battlefield, you got the disorder state without touching any trap ? You got it from him. His core weapon work as missiles which does big violets balls. These things does few damages, but instantly put disorder state. Really a pain in the ass for every rifle/gun/machine gun users.
Also he got big natural STR/WLK/TGH. If you want to make a close combat SUP, he's without a doubt the best option. Less tanky than a Mighty bane, but laugh at beam weapons, and can spam his core to make gun users weaker.
He got few interesting cartridges for a SUP unit : Broad radar and Tough wonder bit. Still he've tough runner and boost run, if you want to do some close combat.

Bugsycait :
The mighty SUP with a big S. He's the best “I'm a SUP and proud of it” with Winberll. He's also the best versatile SUP unit, due to high natural stats. His weapons are :
the AM2. Oh dear, the sweety AM2. When you use it, you do a shield close in front of you as long as you use it. This shield block, as far as I know, all kind of range weapons, as long as you use it and whichever amount you block. But the most interesting part is when you hit someone with. You'll do some damages, and more important, you'll totally block the SUB weapons of the unit for around 4-5 seconds. This is why I said previously he's the best anti close combat unit with winberll. A Lagkun is coming your way with two shields and drooling ? Use the shield. If you got her with, she's not be able to attack for these seconds. Feel free to burst her. Only problem is ammo. You'll run out of shield really fast. Use it wisely. When you use it while flying, you'll do it as a roflcopter but not moving. It can be useful to extend your flying time even if you don't move at all, if you don't want to land immediately (drooling Ouka, for example), and it can stop flying units (stun them and disable sub weapons (meaning a Izuna will not be able to jump for some sec), but don't count on it too much for that.
The BS. Underestimated one. It's a ranged version of the AM2, but you just have to launch it instead of maintain it and it stay for 3-4 sec in front of up (if I remember) to 3 targets. Especially useful against camping ART. Just spam these in front of them. Their missiles while hit the shield and do nothing at all. Unlike some people said (and this is why he's underestimated), he's NOT designed to stop FLY/LND units. The BS shields is designed ONLY to disable snipers/missiles spammers.

The cartridges are decent : Wonder rate up, tough wonder bit, broad radar, and for moving Shoot borst, quick land or boost run and tough runner.

Medi Aide :
Miss Cartridges. Only available on garapon. She got no core weapon neither included weapons, but got really, but really epic SUP cartridges setup : Wonder rate up, growing wonder, tough wonder bit and broad radar. Also she have Float dash, making her a beast in 1vs1 on flat ground.
You can make from her the best SUP, using bugsycait AM&BS or Winberll arms with good cartridges.

Jack gadget -shop- :
Never seen in action. Waiting for someone to describe it.

Jack gadget -garapon- :
Gadget is the key word. All of his included weapons (4 with one double), are decent-but-there-is-better-ones, but still worth their cost. Unfortunately really poor HP. He got :
The HD, which do a Lazoooooooooooooor. The second best lazor in game belong to me (don't speak about Cetusion, they are pure crap). Correct ammo, good damages. A bit weak range but as you'll often use it on LND units&hoppers, it's not really a problem.
The AMs, which do close combats attacks. Cheap cost, medium damages, bad hitbox, medium movement, good connection. Interesting, I like them.
The BS, which do psyguns. Low speed, medium range, medium damages, good ammo. Really interesting to harass and add a weapon on a Fire all weapon setup.
The BD, missiles with low/medium damages, medium speed, medium/high range. Cheap missiles, but still interesting against ART campers and L sized fly units. Mix between Build arm BS and Howtizer.
Cartridges are good but not beast : Tough wonder bit, wonder rate up, broad radar. He also have float dash.

Herianzus :
High natural HP, good stats and low cost (660 without anything). He got only one included weapon, but a very good one : a Lazoooooor (BS), and belong to me the best is this game. High ammo, good damages (only 1 point less that Cetusion ones), best laser range (165 !) and less charging time than cetusion ones. Lazoor got nerfed, right, and this plant say “meh, don't give a shit. SHOOP DA WHOOP.”.
Due to natural good TEC, a ubber lazoor and as he's L sized, he's by far the best choice if you want to make a ART-SUP. Unfortunately he can't wield BS unless you've Thoarla Legs.
Cartridges setup is medium : tough wonder bit, wonder bit rate up and broad radar.

Shine battler :
Good stats and good hp. But he good nearly no SUP cartridges, and no internal weapons. Skip it, he's not a real SUP unit.

Sigma clock :
Does interesting zones which slow enemies, but this is the only thing you should look at. Crappy cartridges, horrible look, poor stats, one handed and garapon only. If you want to master the slow zone, Ok. If you don't, skip it. Also you can wait for the Greinaut release (my favorite SUP bot), as he do everything better than Sigma.

High priestol Q :
Medi aide in M sized and a big less cool cartridges. Still he've growing wonder, and a mini repair bit as basic bit. Good hp and low cost. Good bot if you get ride of the horrible look.

I can give testimony on vesca.

Her thorns bind like the normal winberrl ones, only vertically. Theorithically she could bind AIRs that are flying low for melee purposes, but other than that don't ask much from her

and oh, her drawguns are somewhat better than normal berrl's

Pulsardios are awesome!

I had both, but use Gamma more due to its Dio missile locking and shooting up to 4 targets at once.
Run to Art campers, shoot Dio missiles, run back to safety. Do it 2 or 3 times, my repair bit is filled and heal team members.

Fun fact about jack gadget 2: if you get both core upgrades he can be played like a pseudo ART unit, the missiles not only hit for good damage, they also home well enough to knock out AIRs.

Jack gadget 1 has 3 weapons on his person.
The head fires a boomerang that homes in on a target, then returns to you, if it takes longer than the INT to return you can fire again, so you don't have to wait for it to return exactly.

The core is wide beam gun crossed with motorized gun. After a brief charging period you fire out 8 large sized beam shots from your chest in rapid succession.

The BS is 2 hammers, they don't track at all, but do hit hard and have a 2 hit combo. If nothing else you can farm trees with it.

Thanks for the informations. I'll test out if there is a big different with/without core upgrade.

Clarification on winberyls:

There were two winberyls in Ouka gara: Winberyl Ellen, and Winberyl Vesca. Ellen is identical to default, except with blonde hair and her bind is placed vertically like a wall, useful for walling off corridors or snaring bots out of the air.

Winberyl Vesca has blue hair, and her arms have stronger drawguns with improved stats alll-around in exchange for not being able to equip weapons. Her arms are also like Cross Raptor's, where there's an outer part to the arm that will break before the drawgun part, preventing the arm from being broken as quickly. Her bind spirals out from her, projectile-style, with the range of (approximately) an Eve Shot.

Summer Winberyl is identical to default, but with locked 3-slot parts.

A few more things of note:

-Sigma Clock has extremely high TEC, especially by support standards, and being M-sized can use L-size weapons. He can wreck havok with a custom shotgun, bazooka, or negatron rifle. The slow field effectively works like a Winberyl bind that you throw at a distance.

-Shine Battler is the land shine, Shine Buster is the support.

-You completely forgot the best support, C.S. :C

-A.Maid and Elme should get mentions too, Elme in particular is a superb bot imo. Haven't used the maid yet though. (Fake edit: Just noticed you had a different post reserved for UC/Drop bots, disregard this)

-Shop version of Jack Gadget is worse than gara, most of his weapon parts are subweps and not terribly useful.

-Other gara supports missing: Squidol, Lucheer DP, Lucheer DB

A terrifying combination is to do what I did during beta; put the Bugsy Am2(Shock Shield) onto a Pulsardio Gamma, equip that arm with a Viper Shield and make the other arm anything you'd like with a Large Bazooka...ranged units, and especially Arts, -WILL- hate you with a burning passion(as the AM2 can still block ranged attacks), and the AM2, if timed well, can catch charging melee units, including Jikuns, totally shutting them down long enough for you to get away or for your teammates to finish them off. The Gamma's BS(ranged shield) can also be put on this for an all-around disruptor build.

An alternate setup, if you're skilled with melee yourself, replaces the AM2 with the Boom's AM3(shock tonfa), giving an already potentially dangerous Pulsardio/Gamma even more melee ability! tongue

I'd like to point out that while Shine Buster does not have the "key" carts you might want for a SUP bot, he can get every (yes, EVERY) custom dash action. Float Dash, Short Boost, Sway, Boost run, you name it. And he IS still a support, meaning you could put Winberrl AM on him and still do some nice damage while having some of the best mobility choices of a SUP.

cannot be removed? I detest it. I've seen vesca with a bugsycait arms (in quest) others in arena have a vesca arm on left and the other with a normal winberrl am wielding weapon.

about jack jadget 2, his core weapon, despite having two core upgrade just have a bad homing characteristics. It would be good for spamming but with no guarantee of a hit. well, it's better than nothing anyways.

edit: I like elme S. for having a short core body. I can shrink it smaller than a chibi bot. Though it could wield 2 weapon unlike chibi bots, chibies have a great sup abilities which can suffice disability for single hand wielding.

You can remove the AM of any Rt based Winberrl. Only the one given through leveling is not allowed to be removed. I tend to put Winberrl Ellen AM on Vesca's, enabling her to wield weapon.

Jack Gadget 1... is rather scary with Jack Gadget 2 HD, BS, Winberrl AM, 2 Weapons, Jack Gadget Core. You will get a total of 6 main weapon to use in All fire option, and hitting is not an issue since Winberrl AM allows you to pull your enemy closer to you. It is more towards offensive support rather than defensive. *Only the core is good though, others... are pretty much useless*

Oh, and Jack Gadget 1 Core weapon is really reliable. Although it needs charging time, the beam that flow through can hit quite frequently even when targeting moving Air since it shots Wide Beam Gun bullets 8x in a row, like a machinegun. Range wise is quite decent, since you can get near 300 range after upgrading the core.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

C.S. - quite decent if you ask me, with a lot of stats going over or near 15. Cartridge wise... decent for moebot, although it doesn't really make her too special. Core weapon explosion is quite nice as well actually, but, most of the time you're the one ended up suiciding after accidentally clicking on the sub, especially when firing all weapon.

Upgrading Jack Gadget 1's core gives an increase to force (13, up from 12), improves interval (260, down from 300, if I'm not mistaken), and increases both range and speed. No bonus ammo though.

Upgrading Jack Gadget 2's core gives ammo, range, force (maxed at 20 with both upgrades) and projectile speed. I still don't see how people say they have terrible homing, never found that to be the issue with them. My problem is Jack is so low to the ground that terrain or people in front of you can block your shots. Then again since I have both core upgrades maybe they don't suck hard, or I'm lucky.

One thing about both Jack Gadgets is that they both have terrible walk, but good fly. I strongly recommend taking them to level 6 or higher if you enjoy playing them so you can snag float dash.

Hell if I know, but her name in Japanese is apparently the same as that rabbit from Umineko. Siesta, Cheister, whatever the hell people are calling her these days.

Also, spacing out the kanji in google translate gives "Database System Error", kind of funny when you consider she self-destructs and is the girl on the maintenance button on startup. I'm not sure if that's an intentional pun or not though, I don't speak moonrune.

Right, there is a big difference with and without core upgrade with jack gadget 2.

Basic stats:
Force : 13
Ammo : 120
Range : 300
Speed : 180
Int : 1500

1 core upgrade:
Force : 16
Ammo : 140
Range : 330
Speed : 190
Int : 1500

2 core upgrade:
Force : 20
Ammo : 150
Range : 360
Speed : 200
Int : 1500

Also I noticed the homing capacity of the missiles (i'm not totally sure) tend to be way better once upgraded. You're right they become really good after upgrade.

You might be able to get one in the lucky cubes.

But all Winberrl AMs are detachable, save the free one you get for ranking up. The RT one in the shop has detachable AMs.

Imagine jack gadget 1 withwhat you said above except with net shooter (like spideroid/tarantulic's core, beam web) and paralyzer, ancient bazooka, or a devastating melee
