I played Final Fantasy 11 for over five years. That game started in Japan and then opened up access to those JP servers by publishing translated clients. Literally everyone played on the same server, in which lag was not a problem because it wasn't a shooter. (They got around players communicating through a language barrier by inventing an autotranslation feature, where you could type a few letters and then hit tab and it'd bring up a list of possible words and phrases that were in the translation database. Everyone's client then showed those phrases to them in their native language.)
-----
I seriously doubt that Cyberstep will ever listen to the English audience. I think they'd rather shut the doors to our server than make any changes that come from the NA audience.
-----
That being said, I'll at least shit out my 2 cents.
1.)
100ms Latency restrictions should be put in place. CL handles laggers even worse than CB. In CL, you need to mouse wheel lock-on and when laggers start teleporting it kills your lock. The game doesn't even know where the fuck they'll appear next. Also, even just a 150 ping will totally ruin the game's experience. It might not be noticeable on slow moving forts and busters, but a 150ms player on an 11wlk assault is nearly invincible. They move in suck a jittery fashion that it's like they don't exist in one place in space. I've seen players that played CB that could be hit, go to CL and become lagging gods, vibrating through the air with their dark, lagging magicks.
If you're bored, this is an interesting read: http://cosmicleague.cyberstep.com/_/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=295
There's a lagging Brazilian guy who kept saying, "I don't lag and no one calls me a lagger." Then people showed him how to see his actual ping to the server. (It was over 200.) He couldn't fix it, so instead of leaving CL EN for CL BR, he just went back to saying, "No one calls me a lagger. You just hate me because I break towers."
2.)
Ragna's main weapon should have its stats reduced. The only people I've seen say otherwise were Vietnamese/Brazilian laggers that also love to use their Ragna in every single match. CL has lost a lot of people and even just a two point reduction to force or a five point reduction to range would get them to say, "Oh, Cyberstep is finally listening to us? Let's try CL again."
3.)
Unlock Cosmoloids bots should be purchasable with FP if their price is listed in RT. This really is bullshit. If a game doesn't welcome free players, the playerbase will always be small and there will be fewer free players who decide they like the game and make the transition to paying/offering players.
4.)
The matching system for arena battles should be totally optional. It's fine for hunting and haunted, but the
players really just want a list of arena servers that they can instantly join. People don't like queuing for almost thirty minutes to finally enter a match. Hell, I'll close the game out if I'm in a matching queue for longer than ten minutes. I'm sure no one wants to sit indefinitely, so therefore everyone has a limit to how long they're willing to sit in the lobby before they are allowed to play the game.
-----
Those are the largest and most pressing complaints that I've seen from players in-game, on their super-secret hidden forum and their Facebook. Here are my further suggestions, because apparently I enjoy futility.
-----
5.)
Queue times for Golden League are absurdly long. The game should just have a ten minute timer.. once you've been queuing for Golden for ten minutes, it should just let you enter a match, even if that means it's one player in an entire room of bots. I've heard several people remark that they queued for Golden and still couldn't get in after 30 minutes of sitting in the matchmaking queue.
6.)
The parts section of the store should be populated with all parts that you have previously acquired, with their purchase prices being set as UC or RT, depending on the nature of the bot and where it came from. Seriously, the parts section of the store is a total joke. The only parts that are in there are the craptastic and super-ugly ones from the first few free bots that all accounts get. (Scorpoton arms actually have decent HP for their size, though.)
7.)
Make more maps / fix the map editor / have a mapmaking contest. People are bored to tears from only having five maps. GM Wedge even said that he thought five was too few and that the game needed more maps to keep the interest of players.
8.)
People in the NA region do not like getting blue balls from the garapon lottery. Since the garapon will never be removed, at least remove all the blue balls and improve the rates for silvers. This game is Jewier than a Yid on Yom Kippur. Randomly being cursed with blue balls has already made several players quit.
as an alternative suggestion:
9.)
Invent an x20 roll for garapons. When a player selects that, give them a reroll ticket to use for their next x1 in that same garapon. as an alternative suggestion:
10.)
Sell reroll tickets to specific garapons in the shop. I think 500 RT sounds like a fair price.
11.)
Remove the debuff ailments that the bots have in Haunted - Hard. We aren't JP players and we don't like losing to bots. (As comparison, all of CBs boss fights can be won solo and with shop bots/parts. Even the hardest difficulty is able to be cleared by one motivated person.)
12.)
Fix the bugs in the bot textures. If you're a painter, you'll quickly see how hastily this game was slapped together. Look at the front of Yaksha's BS.. look at the back corner of Cannonballer.. at least 1/3 of all bot textures have human errors left in their textures.
13.)
Add randomized PVE content. Just throw Arcantus in. People will be happy to have Arcantus in which to dick off and waste time, blasting an endless stream of constantly spawning bots while earning marginally useful parts and weapons.
14.)
Cards in the shop should have unit type symbols put on them. Currently, it's a total mystery as to what type of bot can use what type of shop card.. until you buy them.
15.)
Increase unit cost for Prime and Master leagues. I get it, the low cost limit is to try to incentivize people to buy the overpriced sphere binders and have tuned bots with low cost. Still, the maximum unit costs are too low.
16.)
Either remove the energy system or have bots tire out more quickly. The recent buffs to the energy system have made it and the energy drinks useless. You can play arena for four hours straight and your bots still won't be tired.
17.)
Invent a multiple sell option for parts and weapons while inside player's garages/ships. CB has this. CL needs this.
18.) Eliminate tower HP regain in Masters. People are tower camping too much in Masters. Prime is more fun because people aren't locked at the hip to their tower.
19.)
Allow all cosmoloids to reach S rank. Even if that means making a shop item that unlocks their rank for RT and FP. Every day I hear people remark that they want an S ranked Cannonballer / Victory / Zero Saber / etc..
20.)
Randomize grouping so that groups aren't always on the same side. If you give people a system that they
can abuse, they
will. Randomize that shit.
21.)
Give us an arena that never spawns bots. Don't set the player requirement too high. 5v5 would work. The GMs removed Prime Zero because they set the requirement so that it never starts unless 20 people queue for it at once. If 19 people queued, they would all sit in the lobby, indefinitely.
22.)
Invent a report botter feature. Yes, botting has already begun in CL. MizaSmashi has been the only one I've seen, but since there is no player initiated feature and our GMs are usually not in the office, leaving the game to run unattended, more people will bot once they realize that they can do so with impunity.
23.)
As GMs, initiate more communication with the community, either on the super secret, hidden forum (that should be linked to on CL's main page so that it is no longer super secret) or here or their facebook. I've already seen professional reviews that remark that the company doesn't tell the players shit.. and Cyberstep is notorious for not giving a flying fuck about what their players want or ask for.
-----
OK, there's my two cents. I am 100% confident that they will all be ignored by Cyberstep, as those Japs are either deaf, stupid, greedy, uncaring, mentally retarded, have their heads stuck up their asses or a combination of those states.
I'll still play here and there, but I am actively looking for another game. I'm just kind of bored with offline games and I would rather play on the internet with actual people. I also won't start an online game if it's one year old or older. If I wasn't there to start around the same time as everyone else, I won't bother with it.
..if only more NA games were in the mecha genre.. and had paintable characters.. and customization, both aesthetic and non-aesthetic.
