Amlim Blood Shooter Question

I notice that sometimes the crosses explode after being stuck in some people. Is there some way to make them do that at will? Also, is it even worth building around this thing? That cooldown is hefty.

Bonus question - Does Kana Hanazawa voice Amlim? She sounds a LOT like Lisa from PSO2.

UPDATE: Alright, so after playing tons of Haku, I think the crosses explode in a very specific situation:

The attacking bot has to be trying to jump melee. Anyone wanna test this out and confirm it?
