I came across this game at Fanime con this year and figured I'd check it out. Anywho, my tag is Dominusdux... Any tips on what I should be focusing on? I was told to just focus on missions- but along the way I've also bought some items but dont know the do's and dont's yet.

Hey there, Dominusdux (or maybe Domin for short?). Don't mind Lxe, sometimes arenas can have a nasty effect if you're hit on the head too often.

Well, the first thing you have to do is check the game itself. Missions for ranking, quests for materials and experience, arenas for PvP.

Then there's the 4 robot types: LND for land robots with quick running/hoppping skills; AIR for sky battles, ART for weapon supremacy (sometimes at the cost of defence) and SUP, for either helping allies or disabling enemies. Just to note that SUP robots aren't around at start, you'll meet them later.

Before you start buying something, i'd suggest you get a feel of each type and then see what you like the most and the least.

Which union have you chosen? Or if not, which would you join the most?

I'm FireKiller, half-retired BRD player.
You have three options here:
1. Play in arena until either Resha or Eris show up, and if you go near them you will get reamed up your butt
2. Missions all day
3. CB as glorified chatboxes

Good luck and enjoy your stay. Also, if you want to survive the arena, get a Seraph Crimrose ASAP and get both Enhance Internal Weapon cartridges.

You forgot the "Promote her at Lv.10" speech.

Promo her at lv 10 for extra cost and hp on your Seraph. Both of those benefits are needed for making a Seraph.

Seraph Crimrose is nice to get a first impression, but takes ages to be completed. However, sooner or later you can't avoid rolling that fucking Garapon and paying absurd amounts of $ so you can have shittons of crap and a fragment of your Do-Want-List =3=

Right now I have 5 bots(1 chibi) and I've chosen the strength union. I prefer fighting with my Crimrose which is now lvl 1.

Level her up in Quests... Seraph is your only hope without RT...

This. Level her in missions, or Bastageant runs. The best way to level for you, right now, would prolly be to get a commando with TEC based bots and 6 Shotguns (available in UC shop I believe). With these you can easily do Battle Planet Bastageant, "Final Battle: Berzelius". There should be some video guides about this on YouTube. You could also try "Final Battle: Demon Fox Haku", but that's rather intense for a beginner. The Berzelius Fights just require you to alphastrike the boss with the two shotguns.

Crimrose herself isn't that bad if you tune and modify her correctly (she's got awesome capacity), but her default parts/stats are rather bad (especially the low TGH, because it causes her to drop out of the air a little to often),
