Got all of their supplies from the old So Viet union :/ And the Soviet Union replaced the AK-47 with the AKM in ~1960. Actual AK-47s (not the AKM which is visually indistinguishable from the AK-47) are usually only found on the civilian/black market, it's pretty amazing that you got your hands on one in the army.

Got all of their supplies from the old So Viet union :/ Didnt the soviet union use ak74s not 47s ????. Also did they say they were ak47s cause tho far from the best military gun (the best military gun would be the x m8 tho only a few 2nd to that would be the scarlight in terms of asult rifles) Sorry I got off topic point is there are SEVERAL and i mean several ak47 knock offs clones and remodels THAT ALL LOOK JUST ALIKE.Shit I know Gun Experts and several -ppl in the army that will say its really hard to tell a ak 47 from all its other versions.

They first used the AK-47, then the AKM, then the AK-74m. As for the XM8, it was abandoned for being an unreliable piece of plastic no soldier wanted to bring to the field of battle. The HK 416 is pretty much the best modern rifle, being simple, reliable, easy to mod and capable of switching calibers at any moment. From a carbine to a DMR, it can do any job well.

Wrong xm8 was stoped in production because it cost to much to make. Think it happend when obama came to office cause he also the ass who cut production on the f 22 >_<. Perfomance wise it out shined everything. Only testing I dont know if it did good in was re usability u know like how a ak can with stand rain mud other shit. If continued it would have had WAY more versatilitys than any other gun I hope the projects gets picked back up.

Look the HK416 up, it's just as versatile and simpler in use and operation, as well as much more reliable. Using the right ammunition, it can achieve similar performance as well. The XM8 won't be picked back up because the US-Army's new rifle will use a new rifle round the XM8 was not designed for, while the HK416, which is already being tested by special forces, can be modded to use it.

| SMGs are good in close-combat areas or tight spots
Rifles are more in open-spaced areas
