about builds?

when i go to upgrade my rinka lynx and i want to give her more tec i see that the first option:

1) Tecnique says that gives +1 tec and +5 cost.

but in second option:

2) Tecnique alpha gives +5 cost, -1 str and +1 tec.


the difference (for me) between them is that the second  option needs more items to upgrade it.

SO my question is why is this second option there? because is obious people would choose the first option so not waste items in the second like red chips

Before the 100% +1 tunes, vanilla alpha tunes had 10% higher chance of succeeding than a standard vanilla tune. Now there's really no reason for it.

Do note that this only applies to 1st tier tunes, though: Alpha\Beta tunes of the High\Great tier will offer the same main stat bonus at reduced costs compared to standard tunes of the same tier, at the expense of being more expensive mat-wise and inflicting penalties to 1 (Alpha) or 2 (Beta) stats.
