Favorite/least favorite weapons after OB2?

No reason not to keep thinking during the downtime; what weapons did you grow fond of during OB2? What weapons did you dismiss as trash or completely annoying to deal with?



As for myself:

UC Weapons:
1) Wide Beam Gun: ammo efficient, reliable and easy to afford. I plan on using this after the wipe.
2) Handy Laser: not too costly, great damage and unbelievable accuracy; short range was a minor issue. I plan on using this after the wipe.
3) Particle Gun: low-cost and ammo efficient with a reliable spread; one of the better UC Blasters available. Sadly, short range and lack of pierce restrict this weapon somewhat.

Rt / Garapon Weapons:
1) Blitz Blaster: Oh, how I grew fond of this one. I could never see my face because of how big it was, but the damage was more than enough to compensate. Arts became but a mere trifle to dispatch... the best Blaster in the game, if not the best weapon entirely.

2) Izuna Nagi LG - Tailwisp: Definitely one of the most dependable long-range Air weapons I've used. Eight rounds per salvo, decent damage and very strong homing, especially when used at a high altitude; great against runners. What more is there to ask for?

2) Auto Beam Rifle (Mod): Quite the reliable weapon, this one; great for Mobile Burst. The range, damage and accuracy were all satisfactory, although not exactly on Blitz Blaster / Stardust Cannon / Cards / Jet Hammer / Hatigarm / Ivis territory.



As for what I disliked, there aren't many weapons I'd outright dismiss as useless beyond Machineguns. Perhaps Handy Bazookas? Outside of using Drawguns on a Winbell or cramming it up someone in melee range, I could never land a shot with them.

I'd stick with wide beam guns, bazookas and shields.
I already have some UC builds for Izuna and Winberrl, this should be enough for starters.

My ultimate goal will be the squad of fully tuned Seraphs xD

Laser hoppers >.> Lasers damage is increased because of lag, right?

Ah, well. I'll just acid\tesla laser their ammo if I'm lucky enough to get them.

Let me clarify that.

A Hopper is a robot (usually land type, but quite a few artillery bots have the cartridge available too) that spams the Short Boost cartridge which makes the bot jump in the direction you were meant to be dashing at, while spamming a weapon. They're hard to hit because of the constant moving around.

Magnums, all of them. Thanks to the Combat Mag, I noticed how useful they are.

Beam Rifle. Good damage, good range and piercing. It can take down 4 monsters clumped together in a single shot in Arcantus.
Megaton Rifle is pretty much the same except heavier. It's a great harassment weapon when a group of people crowd the Power Spot because of a Repair Bit.

I find most machine guns fairly useless to me since I prefer weapons with more range. Even the Vulcans are pathetic IMO.
I used to like Machine Guns a lot back in OBT1 where I would use two Sub-Machine Guns on my Hound Dog(No longer existing).

Beam rifles are probably my favorite weapons, both regular and ABR--sniping and piercing effect is fun with large stacks of people or mobs. Lasers would be awesome...if I didn't have to get so close to those pesky ivis/ouka killing my team. :[

so basicly this is what happened

Lasers got nerfed to the extent that most jp laser players have converted to plasma guns.
Ivis is re-introduced into garapon
Ivis now has 1 less counter to worry about
Hoppers have 1 less counter to worry about

Pretty much. I didn't entirely understand the nerf either because the laser was one of the things that could hit hoppers.

Even more stupid was that they nerfed all laser type weapons, including the ones LND types can't use like the L-11.

i heard they nerfed laser by make them charge before it can shoot like Powered Laser.
may not problem for me since i use PLaser for long.

No that information is incorrect. There is no added charge time. However, normal lasers have more lengthy cool down after each burst, even if you use 1 ammo, you must endure the same duration of cool down. In addition, lasers are harder to aim/lock onto enemies i.e. less accurate.

so they reduce the aim assist of laser then?
