Music: Does It Help?

Much as I like CB, I think the music is absolutely lame. I would have liked to listen to hardcore music while playing Cosmic Break, but, previously, I was too lazy to go in and edit the music files in the program folder. I did it a while back, and I seem to have noticed that I do better. Seeking confirmation, I went looking around the internet looking for corroboration. Surprisingly, I found a number of accounts detailing the same thing, and a multitude of scientific studies saying that listening to music helps increase performance in all kinds of areas. So my question to you is, do you listen to music (and not just the CB soundtrack) while you play? If you do, what do listen to? And do you think it helps?

My personal answer is I love listening to "Showdown" (by Pendulum) and I have gone from usually top 15 to usually top 10.

If they had a feature like Cabal Online, where you could choose which song to listen to, even though each area had a theme song...

Eve's mission song and Elisa/Melfi mission song playing all the time for me.

But I'm stuck with the regular BGM, which is already muted, and because media players derp too much when I'm playing CB (or the opposite).

I think that for me it helps.
I mean, some songs make me more exited to do certain things? Else it's just hurr durr arena spamming...

changing to touhou bgm help me dodge bullets better...

I listen to Melty Blood music when I'm in a match

I played Danzai no Hana ~Guilty Sky~ and Oath Sign (Lisa) and got much higher scores than average with Elisalotte and Vanguard Fencer.

I play Touhou vocals with AIRs and it works nicely.

Few SRW themes. I remember scoring 11k score by listening to Trombe and spamming Red Squealer AM because, it was so manly. Scored 8k listening to Koetsu no Beowulf by using MBG.

Songs like Mellow Melody (Ceui) and My Soul Your Beats usually calm me while playing ARTs.

I don't much care what music I listen to, but...

Music doesn't help me do better, but I noticed that I do better after I've been seriously pissed off(not while I'm pissed, cuz then I just get reckless).

lol... I don't know what most of those songs are. My go-to for just about everything is Daft Punk. AIR types= Da Funk. LND types= Harder Better Faster Stronger, Robot Rock, Steam Machine, or Television Rules the Nation. ART types= Short Circuit, Prime Time of Your Life.
I can also do really well with Rage Against the Machine. Wake Up, Know Your Enemy, Bulls on Parade, People of the Sun, Testify, Guerrilla Radio, Voice of the Voiceless, Bullet In The Head, and Fistful of Steel are uber-agro songs that get me pumped up in a heartbeat.

Does pretty well when playing Quest and Mission mode, if I do say so myself.

I don't have any specific type of music I listen to in general while playing. It really depends on what set of commandos I'm using and which map loads. Then I hit the play button on the matching playlist. I overall have 40+ gb of music saved on here. It does help though, in just about anything music will help me focus better.

Oh yeah... I forgot that it being MP3 it can easily be changed...

My laptop is only 283gb free at max, I've also paid for a good portion of it. :v

I always mute the CB and start play the music with my miku themed winAmp

I always just get Windows Media Player running, and I have either everything I've recently got playing/shuffled, or just everything I like playing/shuffled. I have 65 GB of music, so I have quite the variety, and little to none of it is generic anime/anime game music like everyone else likes it seems.

EDIT: @ Tsuba, @R3M: Fuck yeah Children of Bodom and Pendulum. I think Crush - Pendulum could actually be my all time favourite song. Just imagine it playing loud in the background as you go at it with some huge melee or a Vanguard or something.
