Gladiator tunes

I'm kind of puzzled as to the function and usefulness of gladiator tunes. e.g on a Vanguard Fencer sword, gladiator tunes = stretch the sword longer? How do range boosts on a melee weapon work? Also, since the boosts are quite low due to the low base values of range and speed on melee weapons compared to guns, are gladiator tunes worth their cost?

On a similar note, would the speed loss from grappler tunes slow you down noticeably?

Speed & Range is fixed when overdrive.

Gladiator tunes only make a difference in non-overdrive mode.

Not sure about Vanguard Axeman, but I'm pretty sure Gladiator tunes are removed on his Overdrive combo.

They increase the lunge of your combo. Meaning if you move forward when swinging, you'll move forward more.

Didn't really seem so on my HG tuned ouka,the sword's slash line became longer.

then how about high gladiator to normal sword like metal slayer?

You know Goten's metal slayer in Scarlet Moon mission? Yeah, after you cut his HP down a bit his slayer gets the equivalent of 3x high glads.
