GM radio events are awesome, you get to here funny stuff, talk to
GM's live and see loads of funny stuff happen. But the problem is, not everyone knows how to connect to the "mumble server". You would be thinking, "WTF is a mumble server?, I've typed the address and/or the port number into the address bar of the browser and still nothing!". Or you would be spamming the chat in CosmicBreak, which contributes to more lag.
This guide helps you to correctly participate in
GM Radio events and enjoy it to the full extent. You will need headphones to reduce the amount of echo when you speak.
Step One - Download and Install MumbleMumble is an opensource chat software that the use to broadcast the
GM radio in CosmicBreak, we also are able to talk to the
GM's either by typing messages or by Voice chat. You'll need to download this, so here's the link http://mumble.sourceforge.net/
Follow the instructions and install Mumble.
Step Two - Configure MumbleYou'll need to follow the instructions for configuring Mumble when you're running it for the first time so do that. When you configure Mumble's Voice Activity Detection, You'll need to select "Push to talk", this means that you don't make unnessesary sounds during the
GM radio, such as mouse clicks and typing on the Keyboard. Make sure you take note of what key you are going to press when you wish to speak. You'll need it later.
Step Three - Connect to the ServerHere you need to specify the server you want to connect to. Here you will need to enter these details
- Label - Type in anything you like, I typed in "CosmicBreak" for future reference
- Address - Type in "gensokyo.midnightgaming.net"
- Port - Type in "5044"
- Username - Type in a username you would like to use, I reccomend using your CBEN IGN because its easier to Identify you when you're chatting.
With all that done, you're ready to go! Enjoy the
GM radio event and have fun!
