beam guns

so what's the big difference between the normal beam gun and the plasma gun other then the damage? does plasma gun does something special?

Plasma Gun is a high damage Beam Gun. Just like how Structure Breaker is a high damage Armor Breaker, or how Flint Musket is a higher damage Musket.

The point of my examples was to prove it doesn't. It's an upgraded beam gun, plain and simple.
