Bought him in the shop two days ago under the influence of Icy. Just wondering what I can do on him.

Recently, I've been using him as a stalker; picking off arts who don't have backup.
Rambo does -not- work.

But really though.

What can I do with him?

All Zero Saber parts.
STR 17
TEC 15
WLK 16
FLY 13
TGH 8

I've also armed him with a Sonic Blade (in which for some reason are amazing imo) and Accelerated Gun; making its stats the following:

STR 17
TEC 13
WLK 16
FLY 14
TGH 8

He got 2 +70 cartridges, and Blast Guard.
I also equipped him with Dual Slayer bits.

His parts are 1 slotted, which makes me a bit sad. I plan on replacing the parts in exchange for better ones.

Can you guys recommend stuff for me? Anything I should change (parts, weapons, etc)? Any tips on how to play as him? Any recommended tune-ups?
I also don't have a slash blade, and I don't think I will have it any time soon.
And as for metal slayers, don't even go there. They SUCK.


Oh, and the Zero Step. When is a useful situation I could use it in?

The trick to using the zero sabers is mastering zero step usage. Use it for dodging, approaching, as an air dash, for invincibility, whatever. Melee off of a zero step gets a x1.5 damage multiplier and knocks back + stuns, use that to your advantage. You're invincible for the majority of the move, and using it in midair can give you more distance as well as height.

For weapons, there are three main choices:

Accelgun/Rifle
Sword
Shield

and by combining two of them you get your playstyles:

Sword + Shield: Pure melee bot, uses zero step primarily for the extra melee damage.

Accelgun/Rifle + Shield: Pure gunner bot. Dances around at mid-range peppering foes with shots, and uses Zero Step in tandem with Sway to keep from being hit.

Accelgun/Rifle + Sword: All-out offensive bot. No shield really cuts down on survivability, but being able to use both a gun and melee with zero step allows you to make some devastating combos (example: gun -> ZS -> melee -> gun -> ZS -> melee, repeat).

For parts I'm not really sure since I use a Zero Saber Girl and thus can't change them. Katana Max AM has +3 str and +1 wlk, Ace Braver AM has melee that would allow you to use a shield and gun without giving up melee weapons. Not sure about the other parts though. For guns, I'd recommend an accelgun or scout rifle. For melee, Sonic Blade or Kamui Staff should work well.

Off the top of my head, Katana Max BS gives +3 STR, Accel Saber BS gives +2 WLK, and Jikun BS gives some nice LND stats too.


Zero Saber Custom AM give +3 STR, but he's in the garapon and I don't know if you intend to try for that. There's also a regular Zero Saber in the Garapon, having of course 3 slots.

Gunner+Melee works well with the Zero Sabers, as Suguri said. Pretty much any time is a good time to use Zero Step, as it can dodge attacks, create an opening, close a gap, etc; so long as it doesn't exceed 50 times.

If you're hell bent on using ZS/ZSG for melee, get a Kamui Staff through Haku quests. All that reach, and the nifty property of being able to break enemy bot parts is all you'll need.

Well, that, aside from a nicely tuned Viper Shield, a minimum of 20 WLK, Boost Run, and all the core part upgrade cartridges. Do those, and you're good to go.
