Is crimson crusader THIS bad?

It seems to last for 1 second.

Not even 1 second after the attack.

1 second during the attack.

Looks like a quite bad core upgrade.

I mean...i expected, like, 5 seconds after the first hit of a tune-able melee sub-weapon.

And it seems built-in tune-able melee sub-weapons don't count? (even if the tune description mentions NOTHING that excludes built-in)

A melee hit will result in a forced stun, meaning that you're safe during the following attacks (given that you hit with the first attack). As shown in the video you could (in theory) spam the 1st strike to maintain the cv. It's not bad at all, it just doesn't replace the LG tune.

cc+ is amazing on a lot of things for the above reason, but it can also be used as a defense mechanism (ie: Tune it on Amy for CC+ to activate when she's dashing). In the end it's a great core tune, and isn't bad at all in all honesty. I'm fine with how it is.

if you got no great success it not always active.

Crimsone crusader is important for mele player, make you ignore stun while attacking / slaying enemies.

crimson crusader makes it so that your first attack will happen, even if there are 5 people all shooting you.
In a melee vs melee fight, it prevents your attack from being canceled during the startup by stun, allowing you to stun the opponent and then do your full combo(since he was stunned by first hit which is covered by CC)

Core tunes do not add any cost to unit, and CC activates regardless of TGH. If you want long-lasting CV, you need to tune revenge:CV, which takes up cost, takes up slots, is random, and is less effective the more TGH you have. Basically, there is very little reason NOT to take it.

A lot of things don't need full time CV, and instead just want the armor on their first attack, and then can tune revenge:clearance instead of revenge:CV.

Consider that very few super armor melees have super armor on frame 1, Crimson crusader helps to bridge that gap.

It's CV for free. There is literally no downside to using it unless if you're running some bizarre melee/alpha hybrid that would require Long Moving Burst.

Would crimson crusader be useful for Hanna Fritz?

She has a melee tune-able subweapon:



But im wondering if her melee attack really needs it.



In theory, according to what you say, it will allow me to use it even if im being attacked/stunned by another robot shooting.

Hanna has armour on her attacks. I'm not sure if her innate armour is enough to skip out on Crimson Crusader though.

If crimson crusader guarantees the first attack, it would be a great way to run away when in the middle of enemies shooting (and maybe stunning) hanna.

Im also not sure how much would she benefit from crimson crusader.

as I said, armor is not up 100% of the time. Generally, armor like this is the opposite of CC: it prevents you from being interrupted from outside sources after you start your combo.
CC allows you to start the combo without getting stopped.
