Killica

She has really interesting gimmicks which I wasn't sure how to use at first so I just had her sit in my 3rd spot leveling up to about 5 before I decided to finally try her out after reading Winter's guide on her mechanics. It took about 10 matches before I got a basic idea of how she works in real time, and I'm really interested in tuning her but I'm not really sure if the build I have in mind is okay or not.

Killica:

I dunno whether I should remove 1 High Glad for 2x melt, or just abandon Melt altogether to go in favor of a Boost Drive. Ideas tossed at me would be much appreciated.

Also, does she need CC+? I can't tell if she gets hyper armor or not.

only the blade charge has armor.

Only time to use hcapa here would be to get more useful carts by dropping a capa cart. You're doing the exact opposite, by both making your build less effective by tuning capa and making your build less effective by not taking important carts(important carts being sword guard and fast recovery, pick one unless you hcapa)

remove hglad yes. Tune grappler.
boost drive is good.
I've heard killica has issues with status tunes as not all of her hits count for proccing it. From discussions of how she interacts with force unstun, this may very well be true in which case status tunes aren't good for her, but that's just speculation. Maybe you'll get more lucky with procs.

Fast recovery is better than revenge: clearance. Always. The only times you want clearance are on cores that don't get recovery(like eris) or on crowd diving AoE melees where you are under so much status that you want both.

if I was going to tune a 1x melt killica with red tier boost run using your handhelds, I'd do this.

ends up with more HP, more damage, anti-homing bits, less ex tunes, and lower cost.

I didn't feel she really needed sword guard due to her parry being able to make melees unable to hit you most of the time if you time it right.

I just did a match with her and I think I did fairly well (Level 3 with just 2 High Run Beta tunes) for starters.

I wanted to get Fast Recovery on her but I wasn't sure if I wanted that or Clearance, for fear of slow tuned melees, but eh I guess if I just parry enough I could get away in the few seconds it takes for it to wear off.

Now that I also think about it though, high glads aren't necessary considering her blade charge. I was about to question you on it but then it ran through my head.

Thanks for the input. I think I might try the 1x melt, but if it doesn't work out I can always just erase the sword drive for boost drive and a 3rd single grappler I suppose.

For what I've tested, only the first hit of each swing has the status proc rate,
even with 3x melt tunes the proc rate is very low, so its worthless IMO...
Personally, I just prefer skip the weapon tunes on her for more HP, and I
prefer armor drive for even more HP and resistance cuz I feel like needing at
least 630 - 650 hp nowadays, but it's just me...

You only need that much HP if you plan on rushing into the enemy base and have nothing to defend yourself with, or if you're just bad in general. The way I've been playing killica is an assassin-style of play so there's really no need for me to have 600+ HP.

I like to crowd dive when ppl are campering hard, and I like to stay alive
the entire match with the first bot, that's why I use 600+ hp

Alright, that's fine then. I'm not gonna do that myself though, so I will be fine with the final HP result of said build.

So it's okay, I just recommend you to drop that melt tune...

I'm still on the fence about keeping it or dropping it. I'm not sure still. I'm sure as I play her more I'll find out whether I want to keep it or forgo a boost drive.

oh, i completely forgot about it, but one last thing is that her sword can break, leaving you with only mode change and blade charge as weapons. There's merit in tuning eternal on her arm since certain melees have a heavy habit of breaking it.

I haven't 1v1 a Killca that can kill me yet

The new weapon is worse than the original version. Idk about the WB...
