C21's robot customization system was borderline retarded. It's like a bucket of Legos and no instruction manual.

CB's is much more fun to play with because of the limitations of capacity. I've spent nearly equal amounts of time in the three major aspects of it: arena gameplay / bot building and customization / painting.

If that sacred triangle is fucked with then I hope the Cyberstep developers get diarrhea and shit themselves in public.

however, there is a limit of parts you can put in that game.(along with height limit)
but thats what I find the fun with the multi core stack function. (because use your own creativity instead of relying on the instruction manual)
and also, cb is just easy modo for whoever want it easy.

I like the capacity system because it's a familiar feature. I grew up playing Battletech; it's tonnage system is similar, but more restrictive.. you can't ever increase a frame's tonnage, you never get an ammunition refill and all solid ammo has to be stored in a physical location that requires its own tonnage and can be shot and blown up. Put ammo in your leg and some stray bullet might blow your leg off.

The C21 system was more like a sandbox mode where you could just throw a pile of random parts together and make some ugly Franken-mech.

hm, very well, since each have their own preference of their own.
still builds in there might not be a sandbox since the type bonus introduction
but whatever. that depends whether its a joke or serious buiid(which of course needed sacrificing looks for the sake of stats and build specification)

The way stats and customization work in C21 is retarded,m and out of thousands of possibilities you had only 1% (and that's being generous) was actually viable for anything.

couldn't  say that since that's the horribly done en ver played.
still.. not really 1% of your build that is viable , it still depends on your own build preference and what parts you own
stats wise, screw the usual str, tec, wlk, fly and tgh system rly.
since that's just the easy way.
customization wise. face it, putting mechas aside, with the full part locked humans(except for some that have removable arms and rarely legs), 10 cost stat sticks and accessories, cb is a dress up doll game
wont argue any further anyway.

Actually i rather they allow us to mix and match parts without restriction like how c21 is (with max cost/weight limit factor in). You can definitely be more diverse with this.
Don't forget in cb, normal bots (not those lock bots/moes, use something other then those more please.) also looks like irregular franken if you just prioritize performance over looks, and saying 1% viable parts just proofs that you are here to pick a fight with no prior knowledge of c21 .-. (It's the same as gamer deeming a game bad when they just taken look on it instead of actual testing it out unlike those game reviewers does)

Above bot contain all 4 types of assortment parts that cb has to offer. Performance wise? it has pursue bit, static bits, interchangeable meleeing combo/single hard hitting swords, high power homing lasers to even supportive barriers etc etc etc. Is this competitive enough in mass pvp? Of course. Can cb do this in 1 single bot? no....Ok.... I give it to you, even IF you can pull this off in cb, what does that bot looks like? Does it has the stats to support it? I tried to replicate something that could looks and performs like this in cb but sadly no, just no.

Now for cb's turn. The axis are the best looking bot by default the game has to offers. This is Ragna as you all knows, had been customize to prioritize looks over performance. Combat wise, you guys will just laugh at the choice of parts, that's how cb is unlike c21.

And if you want something that looks good while have nice performance. There you go *points at those locked moes*.

Do all above bot looks and performs better then the c21 bot in the 1st pic? I beg to differ. What cb has to offer is just the "HD" skinning portion and the more pvp prioritize style gameplay (room based, more faster action packs), but assortment wise they are locked down way bad as long as customization goes.
The stats distribution in c21 is definitely not retarded. It just involve more in-depth calculation base on total parts counts, height(size) of bot instead of cb's direct addition with no difference in performance on bot size. Saying c21 customization is shit just shows that you are afraid in accommodating to something new when it's vastly superior.

Though for cb2 as of now, nothing is reveal on customization yet. Other then videos showing bots improves in their ranks like in c21 (B to S as shown in winty's vid), but, if they just use back the old cb's customization system, nothing will improve. People will still use those few viable parts due to stats distribution and parts assortment not as freely as how c21 is. Single body type restricted customization can never be more freedom then triple body worth of non size and non type restriction parts customizations, get this straight.The only limitations in c21 style customization is what MrCake said, max height limit and max parts count per bot and of course the max weight limit which is equivalent to cost in cb

As for what they do to cb2 through guessing from the shown videos, is probably bots ranks will be base corresponding on the stats/weapons of the bot themselves(like how a max tuned bot vs a non tune bot). They probably make the arena rooms based on bot ranks so instead of player rank based room like in old cb, it will be more like the parts restricted room or robot level limited room instead with probably certain weapons/parts only usable when above certain room rank etc.

Of course this involve more balancing which they failed in cb. So how they going to do it i dunno. But robot customization definitely need to be redone into things like c21's for the better. It may not be triple body complex system like c21 which scares off a lot of people (but in reality it isn't really complex at all, anyone would have grab the concept within the 1st hour of game), but to allow free combination of parts must be there with probably some restriction rules (So people won't stack similar over powered parts on every single bot in their commandos).

For example a originally LND type in cb, now under c21's customization system will be now able to wield a scram mod while keeping their melee superior attacks so they can dealt with stuff both on air and on land.
Instead of just limiting on choice of parts and weapons that separates it out for bot types and "types" will depends on the total amount of composition of the parts used (as long as a certain prominent types of parts used taking up more then 50% composition of the bot, that bot will turned into that type)
C21 system allows mix builds instead of just types specific or specialized builds based on that sole single weapon you wield. Which cb fails on this portion resulting in either you alpha or your bot revolts around that 1 single weapon. Bring both sword and guns, people will lol at you. Bring multiple swords? laugh even harder. Why? Cause cb makes it such that it's not practical. They killed their own customization.

That said, everyone has their own taste, there may be people who prefers to play a stock bot and wished their bot to be strong just by tuning up their stats (what is what cb mainly features now), there's also people who prey on customization. But instead of limiting yourself to cb's limited customization, why not open up yourself more to the customization system c21 has to offer instead of brushing it off. More choices is often better right?

C21 is the best for me too. there is no limit at all, just put any part's you want and mix them.
want to build something fells godly and cool's, C21 is for you, kinda confusing at first because the only C21 available now japan and thailand.

what i mean simply no limit to creativity, thousand robot part's in C21 mean thousand possibility mixing parts for discovery.


not like CB where every thing is limited by Class type "land, air , sup , art & zero........."

Because I haven't been cosistently top tenning with cool looking bots ok. If I dumped money on rt like priskern I would be able to make the godly stuff I made when I was using stainless account everything looked as good as it performed.

Thank you. Because I actually took the time to repoly a head to make it look like Jehuty, and I chose parts and colors to match it more. Then when I was done, suddenly a wild Lagion appeared (that being you) and blew a fit of rage for "copying". So thank you again for forfeitting that. My mind was full of what from that.
