It was released already in here, but unfortunately I don't have the money to go see it (I'd actually pay to see this one).
It's not surprising when something changes when they adapt to other media, even more when it's from media that doesn't rely on time, to media that has time as limitation. Many scenes that work great on media like novels and manga, doesn't work at all when animated/made into movies.
It's like how captain Tsubasa anime looks so retarded when you spend an entire episode watching the ball travelling across the field while everyone thinks of something. Even though on the manga it probably isn't nearly as bad, because it's rather "timeless", there's simply no flow, only the reader's pace.
Same comes to this. Expecting a faithful adaptation is silly. But there's the different between "it has changes" to "it was butchered".
