SONIC BOOM!!!

This episode starts with a scene from the Trailer of Sonic Boom. Sonic chasing Eggman down a canyon only to be confronted by an inappropriately-named mecha of his called "Burn-Bot," although it has extending Claw Arms, not Flamethrower, Acid-shooter, or Incendiary Grenade Arms like it should have. Sonic talks about how that Makes No Sense and is False Advertising, right before going into battle with the robot.

I compare this scene a lot to Wiesse Konigin from Kazumi Magica, who suffers from the same problems. Wiesse Konigin was "The Bullet Witch," but she has Sword Arms, not Gun Arms, like she frikkin should if she's The Bullet Witch! That is totally stupid and senseless!
Also, this partially relates to why I really dislike the Witches Oktavia Von Seckendorff and Ophelia, and why they make no sense either and are false advertising!
It's the same problem that Burn-Bot has, although unlike in Kazumi Magica, they were at least willing to admit it in Sonic Boom. Just something I really wanted to mention about this part.

Sonic engages in combat with Burn-Bot, and is assisted by Tails in The Tornado. However, during the battle, Tails Tornado gets hit by Burn-Bot's extending claws, and he crashes down severely. Despite the damage, Burn-Bot is not finished off, and is still functional. Eggman then has it hauled back to base for repairs and upgrades.

Sonic rushes to the crash site to find poor Tails unconscious and severely injured. He feels really sad for Tails and rushes him to get proper medical attention. I really liked this scene, it was one of the good dramatic moments of the series. Much later on, after Tails regains consciousness, Sonic informs Tails that he is no longer going to be his "Sidekick" anymore and he now wants Tails to take an "Early Retirement." I thought this was a bit corny at first, until it is shown quickly after that Sonic does this after that incident because he doesn't want Tails to be risking his life for him anymore and doesn't want him to get killed. This part I thought was touching, since it shows how much he cares for him as a friend.

Sonic now holds tryouts to see who will be his new Sidekick to replace him. Amy tries to do so, but fails the 1st round. Apparently she was trying to win Sonic's Love again, but she wasn't like crazy over it like in older continuities. Although I still dislike how she's no longer as cute and cuddly and moe' as before. After Amy, some other Mobians come in too, one being a hooded one who covers his face up, and another one being Eggman.

After the 1st round, the ones Sonic considers to be his new sidekicks are this random Mobian Beaver who keeps saying "actually" about things, Eggman, and the hooded Mobian, who turns out to be Tails. Sonic accepts Tails in though.
For the 2nd part of the new Sidekick Challenge, the three are put into a Hoverboard race reminiscent of Sonic Riders, complete with Rail Grinding and in-race combat. Eggman actually tries to get both Sonic and Tails killed in this though. The Beaver drops out of the race early on.

After Eggman pulls some illegal tactics on them and starts making the race more dangerous than it should, Sonic comes to step in, only to get Tails in trouble and himself in trouble as well.

Eggman returns with Burn-Bot, who has been repaired and upgraded. Tails gets hit again and crashes into a frozen lake, and Sonic comes to save him. Sonic then tells him that the whole "New Sidekick" thing was so that Tails wouldn't have to risk his life for him anymore, but Tails tells Sonic that he shouldn't worry about that, because he would do the same for him, and that's what being his ally is about.

When they are then interrupted by Eggman and his Burn-Bot. Eggman then says, "Oh by the way Sonic, I took your advice. Burn-Bot can now Burn things!" For now Burn-Bot is equipped with a pair of Incendiary Grenade launchers on its chest. Burn-Bot then melts the ice with its Incendiary Grenades, causing Sonic to fall in, and almost drown. Tails ends up saving his life this time, and the two then go and finish off Burn-bot by making it fall into the water and short out. Eggman then flies off, and Sonic and Tails apologize. The ending then shows Amy asking Knuckles to be her new sidekick and showing off in front of him.


This one I found to be the better of the two. I liked the whole teammates thing and showing how he generally cares for him. Even though he enjoys the excitement of adventure and combat, he still doesn't want to get his friends put in more danger than necessary. The whole "Sidekick Retirement" thing was actually done well here, and I loved the action and such.  I wouldn't say it's perfect, but it at least gives us an insight into what the rest of the series will potentially be like.

This episode starts with Sonic enjoying himself at his home while it's raining at night, only to hear a knock on the door. He opens it up to find Eggman there. Eggman tells Sonic that his base has been severely damaged by a storm, and he needs somewhere to stay until repairs can be finished. Sonic of course doesn't want to help him, but Eggman promises not to do anything harmful and even shows him that he has no weapons or anything of that sort brought along. Being the merciful hero he is, Sonic decides to allow Eggman and his robotic stewards, Orbot and Cubot, to stay at his place until the base repairs are finished.

The next day, Sonic's other teammates, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and Sticks arrive, to see Eggman spending the night here. Amy is mostly okay with this as for she says that not helping someone like him in need would make them no better than him. Sticks feels that he's up to something. Tails and Knux don't like his presence. Sonic informs them that it is only temporary, and since he had reason to believe that he wasn't trying to do anything harmful, he allowed it.

The next couple of scenes show Eggman being a rather unlikeable roommate (what a surprise). He keeps them up at night with Pillow Fights between him and Orbot and Cubot, he mooches off their food and resources, he acts very obnoxious, and more. Sonic and Tails try to tolerate it, but soon get fed up. Amy tries to settle things between them, but it doesn't work out, and things get worse. Sticks still remains suspicious about him.

A few days later, things finally took a turn for the worse, and it turns out that Sticks was right. Eggman then reveals that his base was not wrecked and is completely fine. He only stayed with Sonic to make him and his allies tired from lack of sleep and annoyance, so that they would not be energetic enough to take on his new robot, Obliterator-Bot. Eggman sends in Obliterator-Bot, and the rest go to face it, but Sonic and Tails are now too sleepy to fight back.

However, the tables then get turned on Eggman. Obliterator-Bot had an unrecognized flaw in its programming that causes it to mess up on its commands from its master. Instead of facing against Sonic and his team, it then goes out to demolish Eggman's complex. Regardless, Sonic and the others go to take down this new mech.

Once at the base, Obliterator-Bot begins its assault on the base. Eggman tells them that two of the Base's computers contains a remote killswitch that they can use to deactivate Obliterator-Bot, but the two terminals have to be switched on simultaneously. Sonic and Tails then run through the Base's defense system to get to the terminals and activate them, while Knuckles, Amy, and Sticks face against Obliterator-Bot. Soon, their drowsiness gets to them and the two are too sleepy to switch on the terminals. Eggman then blows a horn to get them to wake up and they switch them on, allowing them to shut down Obliterator-Bot. The team then attack Obliterator-Bot a couple times in the head and destroy the hulking mecha. However, by the time they've done that, it had already wrecked Eggman's Base.

At the end, Eggman asks again if he can stay with them until repairs can be made, this time for real. After what he did, they refuse this time, and Eggman is forced to take shelter in the remains of his Complex. Amy comes over and talks about how he can cope with his situation, which Eggman finds to be really annoying.


This one I did not find to be as good. It was very annoying. The humor was mainly focused around Eggman being a total jerk of a roommate and a complete mooch, along with his two steward robots, and it got stale quick. It did have a few chuckles here and there, like when Eggman talks about Robots not counting as family because "Robots Don't Have Souls," but the rest not so much. Also, the fight against Obliterator-Bot could've been better, especially considering how a lot of other Sonic Boss Fights usually are like.
