mach knight ace vs raystag

i got 50 rt and im wondering which bot should i buy, is raystag homing laser better than mach kngiht ace LG since im just going to place their parts on some other bot

Get Raystag if you want to make an alpha striking air bot.

Get Mach Knight Ace if you want a long ranged, slow firing subweapon in a two slotted leg part.

Since you're a newer player, I'd recommend against either of them. UC>RT resets either tomorrow or Thursday, so you can buy another 50RT and get something easier to use and more powerful than both.

Ace is terribad. The homing is better suited to target air units from how it fires, but it deals derp damage against air cause it shoots beam missiles.
Raystag is good for the head only since the torso is just your avg medium air bot so it's better to just save up until you get like 80+RT for something even better.
Unless you can get an Air Raider in the future then the Raystag head would work really well with it.

FYI a 40 tec Mach Knight Ace leg hits land units for 70+ and makes a large sized bot extremely tiny during flight.

Plus it's got godly aoe.

so ace lgs are good for bombing land units while raystag hd for alpha with air raider for hitting other air units. did i miss anything?

Raystag HD is for Air alpha, yes, but that doesn't mean you should only be focusing on AIRs. LND's should always be your priority when playing AIRs.

Plus, iirc, Raystag's homing lasers have a beam component.

Its also important to note the range you want for your alpha. There's no point getting a Raystag HD if you're gonna alpha within 150~200 range or so.

Still, you'll be getting both eventually. Getting more parts for more variety is always a plus.
