| My friend's making a Land Eve, and we've been wondering what Assault Step is. I've seen some vids and got a bit of information that AKB kindly provided.
It seems it has both a dash forwards as well as a flip to the side. We were wondering just how efficient the dash forward it to catch up to enemies and if the flip to the side works like Short Boost. Like, does it fuck up the targeting / aim just like Short Boost does? Or is it not very effective for dodging enemy projectiles?

| Forward is like Sway+, sideways/backwards assault steps are like completely useless though.
Basically forward step eats loads of boost to propel you quickly forward, it has loads of invuln frames too. It's not necessarily hard to hit normally but past like 130ms it causes retarded amounts of rubberbanding that makes it practically impossible for anyone to tell where you are.
I'd prefer sway personally but since the bot in question is land eve it's actually necessary if you want to keep opponents locked down due to how much knockback her melee has (and eve doesn't have sway so).

| Eve gets a buff from Rage Gradia(?) where her boostrun doesn't use boost, does this mean that Assault Step won't be using boost either during the time the buff is active? | |

Rage Gradia doesn't cancel out the Boost Gauge drop from Assault Step.

| Rage Gradia's buff is "Free Boost Run" and "Propellant during air movement carts (Glide Boost/Accele Roll)". | |

| Being an LND eve owner and a frequent user of assault step/sway myself. I have a few pointers: assault step is more effective than sway on closing on a target that's one dash away. however, sway is much faster than assault step (tested both with 36wlk) when you plan to use it over a distance to travel somewhere. Sway is much more spammable for dodging as there is negligible cooldown until next step. both can be spammed infinitely without using up all of your boost gauge (sway doesn't use boost at all, where the cooldown time from assault step allows you to pretty much recover the boost you have used up). Assault step is useful for LNDs with low fly as it allow the bot to jump through ridges, cracks, and rivers. (A good example would be on those haku maps, you can use assault step to jump from one high platform to the next high platform on that water map, that's a quite a distance)
Assault step is useful on LND Eve when: -before you engage into 1v1 vs. another melee, use calamity burst and diagnal step when you see their melee charging in, this will allow you to stun their melee, debuffing them with powerless, and dodging their first strike, while they are in midairish from calamity strike, immediately dash back at them and start your melee combo to keep them stunlocked and right click harder away.
-chasing enemies, as you close in, assault step is very useful for opening move of your melee combo.

| Also like to add that quick land increase the spammability of assault step by very little but slightly noticable amount, this means you can travel faster with assault step, but that's up you to decide if it's worth the extra capa/cart. | |

My bad, I personally have assault step on my EVE and failed to noticed that she doesn't have sway. The said combo also works with assault step. Although assault step doesn't allow you to step to the side, you can dash diagnally to dodge an incoming attack, and then jump back to start your melee combo. The delay between 2 assault step make it less effective than sway though. (I was debating whether to reset my cart to use sway for better comboing but now that's out of question) To do this with EVE calamity strike (to stun/juggle them into midair and debuffing their melee), immediately assault step to the side (you can assault step in conjunction with the left click), assault step to their back, start the right click melee combo in conjunction with your second assault step. I also do similar combo with Ivis chain guard, assault step to the side in conjunction, assault step to their back, start melee in conjunction and hopefully slow debuffing them so it will end up being me slashing from the back/stun-locking them until the unit is dead.

| With regards to Assault Steps' movements, I find the sideways flip kinda annoying and can kill you if you accidentally did it on a crowd dive. The back flip is somehow useful to me to dodge several hits (including Eris' Glint Strike)
I sometimes use Diagonal AS is for fleeing a dog fight- Diagonal AS makes it harder for enemies hit you (unless you're half-assing and spamming #em0 while running away like me)
