...with still no definite date for my return in the cards, and after careful consideration, I've decided to allow a longtime friend here -temporarily- play my main acct. until I can get back, if only so I don't miss out on any of the upcoming holiday stuff....

Akhenderson, who was also my original 'mystery benefactor' several months ago, will be manning the garage until further notice; we've agreed to some basic conditions, and he's fully aware that I've given no-one else permission.... :]

...hopefully, I'll get to see lots of screenshots to get me through what may not be a very merry holiday!

Oh yeah, to add insult to injury, NCSoft shut down City of Heroes a few days ago, after a VERY abrupt announcement at the end of August...the MMORPG was still turning a profit, had a rabidly devoted fanbase(myself included), pre-dates WoW by several months, and another major update was imminent....

The decision has been universally blasted by fans and gaming websites as monumentally stupid, and NCSoft Korea's stocks have been a tailspin since about 2 days afterwards.

The MMORPG world has lost one of it's elder statesmen.... *sad salute*

O.k., a replacement PC is up and running....

Stat-wise, it looks about the same as the previous PC, except it's video card, a GeForce4 MX420(32MB)...badly out of date...on the whole, this PC may be able to run CB...wish me luck!

Been working on getting CB and Minecraft updated and ready....

Minecraft's loaded in, but refuses to start, citing something about the card lacking an 'OpenGL File', or such...looking for how to update it and the only link I found on Nvidia's own webpage is outdated and leads to a dead-end...the GeForce 4 series isn't even listed on their site any more...even on their 'older drivers' area!! Sad

...anyone got any suggestions?

Failing this, I'll just have to wait until I can afford a new video card.... Sad

I have an old card (x1300) and I use the ATI legacy Omega Drivers package. Here is the link to the Nvidia legacy section of that site. It's worth a shot. (Remember to back everything up, first.)
