What I do not like about the Sonic franchise is how the creators always try to recreate it. By now it's old enough to stick with one thing, especially because nobody seems to buy it because the new crap they add.

SHH4; Episode 1 was released to various console networks, with Episode 2 slated for this 2012. It's far more traditional, with a pretty steep learning curve (they obviously expect you to have played the originals).
