At least for me, there was a slight improvement when I installed 7 and played Minecraft. Not huge, but noticeable.
CB? Nope, same exact thing with or without newer java.
CB would run a lot better if they wanted to, but just adding more and more stuff to the game without making a patch to fix and optimize the code, does seem to a bad thing to me.

Actually the OP directions say to install java directly into CB's folder to replace whats already there.. which would effectively change the java code it uses... I think at least?

I fixed it to get it to run at least now, 64-bit java version wont work at all lol...

So did the 7 version in 32-bit

Edit : Still plays the same for the most part :/

And now the font is total shit too ;-;

I'd hate to necro this thread, even though it's still on the first page, and there's only 13 topics that have this year's date on it... but is there a more updated version of this going on? There wasn't a source or I would have checked directly.

You can use any java, but you need to forge the crc of the jvm.dll so it matches the original.

You sure you didn't update it and forgot about it?
Because my client still has version 6 and files from 2008.
Unless they only include it with newer installation packages, which is, dumb.

The folders date means nothing.
CB's installer doesn't copy the folders, it creates them, so, unlike the files in them, their modified date is different from the files in them.
And all files are from 2008, the files, which are what matter, weren't modified.
