That's a fair assumption. But the arms appear to be different on the top. So it could be asymmetrical.

Actually, it does look like the right arm is closed over the top while the right arm has an opening. Maybe that's how it looks as the active weapon.

That's what got me,
The red metal bit that appears to have it covered is actually the interior side of the farther, uh, metal bit on the side. It's because they didn't outline the close metal bit correctly, is it looks like it's connecting.
