Fire's short overview of AIRs Empty
PostSubject: Fire's short overview of AIRs   Fire's short overview of AIRs EmptyMon Aug 01, 2011 8:36 pm

Making this guide because I'm bored and I felt like it. This guide reviews various bots, their parts and some weapons.

Usual Playstyles
General
Usage of Beam Guns and Beam Rifles. Staying far and attempting to dodge things from a distence. Focus on FLY and TEC.
Advantages: Staying out of range from some enemy weapons. Easier to escape.
Disadvantages: Not the best against single targets, attracts alot of attention.

Close Range
Usage of Blasters, Beam Machine Guns, and maybe a melee. Getting close makes it easier to avoid getting hit from a single target. Focus on FLY and TEC or STR.
Advantages: Getting close makes it easier to circle straife a single target. Close range weapons usually have large damage a second.
Disadvantages: Harder to escape, risks of getting melee'd.

Fake ART
Suited for L sized AIRs. Usage of Baltheon or Mountaiz with heavy weapons. Staying back and defending. Focus on TEC and TGH.
Advantages: Safer, falling back on Allies helps.
Disadvantages: Won't get alot of combat time unless you're patient. TEAMWORK? IN CBEN? KYAHAHA!

UC Shop
S Sized
Crimrose - 7K UC
325/375 cost
200 HP, 8 STR, 13 TEC, 6 WLK, 14 FLY, 6 TGH
Beam Bit
0s parts, locked HD, no BS slot, no BS built in BD.
Crimrose is a general, low cost AIR, nobody seems to use her except her more annoying promotion version.

AM
25 cost, 15 HP, 1 STR, 2 TEC
A low cost, 2 TEC moe AM. General use. You can keep it on her or give it to Lily to reduce her stupidly high cost.

LG
50 cost, 35 HP, 2 STR, 1 TEC, 2 WLK, 3 FLY
2 locked BSes
Really good LGs, nice stats, looks good on non-moe bots too. There are better options, but they're nice for their accessibility.

Tesladonna - 23K UC
680/705 cost
290 HP, 10 STR, 9 TEC, 10 WLK, 21 FLY, 9 TGH
Beam Bit
0s parts, locked HD, no BS slot, BS built in BD.
Mai waifu. Any part that can be taken off has a built in weapon. Early Broad Radar.

AM
105 cost, 1 STR, 1 TEC, 2 FLY, 1 TGH
No WP slot.

MAIN - SUB
Thunder Laser - Raiko
10 - 22 FORCE
570 - --- AMMO
145 - 120 RANGE
380 - 200 SPEED
100 - 2000 INT

2 moderate weapons built in. Laser is better than a normal laser due to it's long firing duration. Raikos are like boomerangs, only better.

LG
70 cost, 25 HP, 1 TEC, 2 WLK, 2 FLY
SUB
Thunder Kick
15 FORCE
--- AMMO
41 RANGE
70 SPEED
1700 INT
Better used as an evasive maneuver. The accuracy and damage doesn't make it that well when used as a weapon. Damage based on TEC.

Helingale - 16K UC
610/630 cost, 290 HP, 6 STR, 19 TEC, 6 WLK, 21 FLY, 11 TGH
Beam Bit
1s parts, all parts locked.
All parts on him are locked, which is a big turn off for me. He's 100% stat and skill defendant should you use him. Other than that, not much to say about him. There's no point listing the stats on his parts, due the them being locked.

AM
MAIN
Pulse Missile
12 FORCE
250 AMMO
250 RANGE
250 SPEED
700 INT
Pulse missile's a pulse missile. Seeks and does beam damage.

BS
SUB
Rotor Tackle
22 FORCE
--- AMMO
40 RANGE
70 SPEED
1600 INT
I don't know, lol.

Dikaros - 12K UC
485/500 cost, 250 HP, 11 STR, 12 TEC, 13 WLK, 15 FLY, 7 TGH
Beam Bit
1s parts, AM2 included
A small BD. But he's better used to recycle because of his parts.

LG
25 cost, 15 HP, 1 STR, 1 WLK, 1 TGH
Low cost LGs, Not suited for an AIR much, unless you're crazy like me.

HD
30 cost, 15 HP, 1 STR, 1 TEC, 2 FLY
Very nice HD for general AIR play.

AM
40 cost, 25 HP, 1 STR, 1 TEC, 2 WLK, 1 TGH
Also nice, 2 WLK AM. Once again, put it on your neighborhood S LND.

AM2
110 cost, 25 HP, 1 STR, 3 TEC, 1 FLY
No WP slot

MAIN - SUB
Trishot - Handray
13 - 10 FORCE
420 - 120 AMMO
160 - 235 RANGE
240 - 280 SPEED
500 - 840 INT

Fun to use. Main is a fake shotgun that has a horizontal sweep and is effective. Sub is a fake psygun that locks to 3 targets, hard to use effectively.

BS
25 cost, 10 HP, 1 TEC, 1 WLK, 2 FLY, -1 TGH.
Meh, all there is to say.

Beezle - 0.8K UC
130/130 cost, 100 HP, 5 STR, 8 TEC, 6 WLK, 10 FLY, 3 TGH
Beam Bit
1s parts.
Very small BD, very low cost, amazing capacity carts.

LG
20 cost, 10 HP, 1 TEC, 1 WLK, 1 TGH

SUB
Sting
9 FORCE
88 AMMO
100 RANGE
200 SPEED
1500 INT

Sting is better used as an evasive maneuver. Sucks as an offensive. But it's okay, I haven't found a use for it though.

HD
5 cost, 10 HP, 1 STR
Low cost, that's about it.

AM
5 cost, 5 HP, 1 TEC.
Low cost, 1 TEC.

BS
5 cost, 10 HP, 1 STR, 1 FLY, -1 TGH
Stats unrealistic for it's cost.

Sword Wing - 2K UC
305/335 cost, 180 HP, 7 STR, 9 TEC, 5 WLK, 17 FLY, 5 TGH
Beam Bit
1s parts.
Not alot to say about him but he's a slightly better and more expensive version of Beezle.

LG
25 cost, 15 HP, 1 WLK, 1 FLY, 1 TGH
Not much to say.

HD
35 cost, 10 HP, 1 TEC, 1 FLY, 1 TGH

MAIN
Machinegun
3 FORCE
300 AMMO
70 RANGE
240 SPEED
180 INT

Low cost. Though weak machinegun, it does have a long firing duration. It say's it's to be used as a sidearm. USE IT LIKE THAT.

AM
25 cost, 15 HP, 2 STR, 1 TEC
Dat STR.

BS
30 cost, 15 HP, 1 WLK, 3 FLY
Amazing 3 FLY for how easy it is to get. There's alot of 3 FLY BSes out there. But most are RT only.

M Sized
Izuna Kamui Nagi - 16K UC
690/755 cost, 315 HP, 13 STR, 12 TEC, 8 WLK, 20 FLY, 14 TGH
Beam Bit
0s parts, locked HD, open BS slot.

SUB
Vanishing Jump
5 FORCE
12 AMMO
100 RANGE
160 SPEED
2200 INT

A general AIR bot. High FLY on the BD. Sub weapon launches you up in the air. If it's used in the air, it launches you down.

LG
140 cost, 2 TEC, 3 WLK, 4 FLY, 2 TGH
Locked BS, stats from BS carried to LGs for the sake of this guide.

SUB
Tail Wisp
7 FORCE
320 AMMO
270 RANGE
290 SPEED
1100 INT

The infamous wisps used by many spammers everywhere. I wouldn't use this LGs just because it's not fun to use.

AM
30 cost, 15 HP, 2 STR, 1 TEC, -1 WLK, 2 TGH
STR and TGH are high, best used on a STR tanking LND. So as long as you don't care too much for speed.

Mach Knight One - 10K UC
480/535 cost, 250 HP, 4 STR, 12 TEC, 6 WLK, 19 FLY, 7 TGH
Beam Bit
1s parts, no BS slot, BS built in BD, HD2.

SUB
Pulse Missile
16 FORCE
140 AMMO
320 RANGE
190 SPEED
1000 INT

Not much to say, again...

LG
30 cost, 15 HP, 2 WLK, 1 FLY, 1 TGH
Folds up in flight, popular for many L bots out there.

HD2
30 cost, 20 HP, 1 TEC, 1 WLK, 2 FLY
Another great HD if you don't have, or can't put Dikaros HD on.

AM
25 cost, 15 HP, 1 TEC, 1 FLY, 1 TGH
Sometimes people use this, not sure why. Looks average and not too special.

Mach Knight - 9K UC
400/445 cost, 215 HP, 3 STR, 11 TEC, 6 WLK, 16 FLY, 6 TGH
Beam Bit

SUB
Bomb
18 FORCE
170 AMMO
240 RANGE
160 SPEED
300 INT

Everything I listed about MK1 is the same here, besides a few things.

HD
25 cost, 15 HP, 1 STR, 1 TEC, 1 WLK
Pretty meh-ish

L Sized
Tengu - 17K UC
520/520 cost, 285 HP, 8 STR, 17 TEC, 6 WLK, 16 FLY, 5 TGH
3-way Bit
1s parts
Very recyclable. His BD is meh-ish besides the cost and size (SDC spam, anyone?)

LG
25 cost, 30 HP, -1 STR, 2 WLK, 1 FLY, 1 TGH
Boring skin, but looks nice.

HD
30 cost, 15 HP, 1 STR, 1 TEC, 1 WLK, -1 FLY, 2 TGH
A weird HD for a weird bot.

AM
35 cost, 30 HP, 2 TEC, 1 FLY, 1 TGH
Dat HP and TEC. But they're large.

BS
60 cost, 15 HP, 2 STR, 2 TEC, 3 FLY, -2 TGH

SUB
Fly High
5 FORCE
30 AMMO
100 RANGE
160 SPEED
1000 INT

TGH is raped but other stats aren't. Very good BS. Use of sub on ground launches you in the air, use of sub in air will launch you to the ground.

Big Mountaiz - 40K UC
735/820 cost, 480 HP, 17 STR, 17 TEC, 5 WLK, 10 FLY, 18 TGH
Rifle Bit
1s parts.
Now this is what I'm talking about! His stats build him like an ART with high TGH, TEC, and oddly STR. He is also the only AIR that can ever have a Rifle Bit. He just packs alot of sexy muscle so he moves a little slow.

LG
50 cost, 95 HP, 1 TEC, 3 WLK, 1 FLY, 1 TGH
One of the best L sized LGs in the game. Hands down. Tons of HP, great WLK, only 50 cost. Competes with Thoarla LG, Baltheon LG, and some others.

HD
30 cost, 20 HP, 1 STR, 1 TEC, 2 TGH
Meh-ish, but it can be found a use.

AM
40 cost, 35 HP, 2 STR, 1 TEC, 1 WLK, 1 TGH
One of the few AMs in the game to give this much HP. Other than that, kinda meh and large.

BS
35 cost, 20 HP, 1 TEC, 2 FLY, 2 TGH
A fair BS for it's size. Has it's use.

Pacifar
710/855 cost
375 HP, 8 STR, 17 TEC, 9 WLK, 22 FLY, 18 TGH
Beam Bit
Amazing for both BD use and recyclable very good parts with a very nice BD.

LG
55 cost, 30 HP, 1 TEC, 1 WLK, 4 FLY
A HUGE +4 on the FLY stat. Folds up during flight. Great LG, though AIR only.

HD
40 cost, 25 HP, 1 STR, 2 TEC, 2 WLK
For use on your Run and Gun LNDs and your WLKing ARTs. Not too suited for AIRs due to the WLK, but bearable.

AM
65 cost, 20 HP, 1 TEC, 1 WLK, 3 TGH
Weapon on the "shield". Instead of the arm breaking, the shield will break.

MAIN
Beam Gun
10 FORCE
350 AMMO
200 RANGE
265 SPEED
500 INT

The beam gun on the weapon is fair and you don't really need anything else. Very versatile.

BS
40 cost, 25 HP, 1 STR, 1 TEC, 3 FLY
Standard garapon AIR BS. 3 FLY, okay in other stats.

L Sized
Gwyain
820/1035 cost
475 HP, 12 STR, 14 TEC, 11 WLK, 19 FLY, 22 TGH

MAIN
Stardust Gun
5 FORCE
500 AMMO
150 RANGE
285 SPEED
700 INT

Huge cost, high FLY and TGH, crummy weapon, small core of an L sized. But honestly, I think there's better. People like his BD for some odd reason... At least he's very recyclable.

LG
50 cost, 55 HP, 1 STR, 1 TEC, 3 WLK, 1 TGH
Should be recycled to something else. Animation is stiff, but the model looks nice.

HD
45 cost, 30 HP, 2 STR, 1 TEC, 2 WLK
Best used on your usual STR and WLK LND.

AM
40 cost, 20 HP, 1 TEC, 1 FLY, 3 TGH
Comes with a built in shield. The shield functions so that the arm won't get blown off. This keeps from disabling use of the hand held weapon.

BS
45 cost, 30 HP, 2 TEC, -1 WLK, 3 FLY, 1 TGH
Great booster, due to it's TEC and FLY.

Noted Weapons
Beam Gun
20 cost
MAIN, Beam Gun, 9 FORCE, 500 AMMO, 230 RANGE, 285 SPEED, 460 INT
A regular, low cost, versatile beam gun. If all options don't float your boat, look into this.

Wide Beam Gun
50 cost
MAIN, Beam Gun, 12 FORCE, 500 AMMO, 220 RANGE, 275 SPEED, 500 INT
A beam gun with a larger round size. This makes it easier to hit enemies with it. Very nice and good for it's cost.

Plasma Gun
170 cost, -1 STR, -2 WLK
MAIN, Beam Gun, 18 FORCE, 340 AMMO, 220 RANGE, 270 SPEED, 440 INT
A regular beam gun. With steroids. That's about it.

Particle Gun
40 cost, -1 WLK
MAIN, Blaster, 6 FORCE, 1300 AMMO, 180 RANGE, 200 SPEED, 420 INT
General close range AIR weapon. Does alot of damage on LNDs and on close range.

Beam Machinegun
90 cost
MAIN, Beam Machinegun, 8 FORCE, 1100 AMMO, 120 RANGE, 360 SPEED, 220 INT
Excellent close range AIR weapon. Quite nice damage. Never seems to run out of ammo.

Double Beam Machinegun
130 cost
MAIN, Beam Machinegun, 6 FORCE, 900 AMMO, 120 RANGE, 360 SPEED, 220 INT
Fires 2 shots per. Suffers from low ammo. But very, VERY, high DPS.

Beam Rifle
70 cost, -2 STR
MAIN, Beam Rifle, 18 FORCE, 160 AMMO, 300 RANGE, 330 SPEED, 800 INT
General beam rifle. Can peirce targets, can be tricky to aim. I don't like using it though.

Negatron Rifle
180 cost, -3 STR, -2 WLK, -2 FLY
MAIN, Beam Rifle, 25 FORCE, 160 AMMO, 330 RANGE, 380 SPEED, 1100 INT
Amazing beam rifle in my opinion. Other's disagree. Large damage. But large cost. I also find it easier to aim due to the charge up it does.

Auto Beam Rifle
110 cost, -1 WLK, +1 FLY
MAIN, Beam Rifle, 13 FORCE, 360 AMMO, 300 RANGE, 385 SPEED, 200 INT
Popular and overused. Fires 3 shots quickly. Heard it's useless if you can't aim.

Mini Bazooka
60 cost, -2 WLK, -2 FLY
MAIN, Bazooka, 23 FORCE, 160 AMMO, 210 RANGE, 280 SPEED, 540 INT
Heavily abused sidearm. One of the 2 only non-beam explosive weapons in the game AIRs can have. The other being the Bomb Launcher in Moe Gara. Generally used for AIR to AIR combat. Use this and lose my respect.

Stardust Cannon
130 cost, -1 STR, -3 WLK, -2 FLY
MAIN, Beam Cannon, 31 FORCE, 170 AMMO, 280 RANGE, 260 SPEED, 1000 INT
A popular weapon amongst L AIRs, due to it only being LL sized. Does a lot of damage can be quite versitile. Though slow. It's a rare drop on Bastagant.

Thoarla AM3, "Jupitizer Gun"
180 cost, 20 HP, -1 STR, 2 TEC, 1 WLK, 1 FLY, 1 TGH
MAIN, Lightning Gun, 30 FORCE, 160 AMMO, 330 RANGE, 400 SPEED, 600 INT
1 of the 3 LL AIR only weapon AMs. Perhaps the best ranged weapon in this entire game! It has amazing accuracy, amazing range, amazing damage, amazing round size, amazing AoE, amazing speed. It's just amazing! It can also pierce through shields. It takes about a second to charge, then it fires 2 rounds of awesomeness.

Gwyain AM2, "Beam Gatling"
220 cost, 40 HP, 3 TEC, 1 FLY, 2 TGH
MAIN, Beam Gatling, 12 FORCE, 1400 AMMO, 260 RANGE, 410 SPEED, 300 INT
1 of the 3 LL AIR only weapon AMs. Huge ammo, doesn't pierce (super sad face). Due to it's gatling like nature, it has bad accuracy. In order of tightest spread to loosest, Standing > Walking > Flying > Running. Very overlooked, but the style just doesn't fit alot of people. Should you have this, be a fake ART with a Baltheon. Just use something else while flying unless you have your reasons. Comes with a shield to prevent breaking of the gun.

Shaden AM2, "Charged ABR"
185 cost, 35 HP, 1 STR, 4 TEC, 1 TGH
MAIN, Beam Rifle, ?? FORCE, ?? AMMO, ?? RANGE, ?? SPEED, ?? INT
1 of the 3 LL AIR only weapon AMs. The only one I don't own. Charges for a second, then fires 4 beam rifle rounds. Proclaimed, "Horrid Accuracy" and "Does not pierce". Can anyone help me out with the stats? Wiki doesn't tell me.

To be filled.

I add more when I don't get lazy and when the thread picks up.

You forgot Double Beam Machinegun and ABR for the weapons. As annoying and overused as they are, they're quite practical

Baltheon LGs: 95 hp, 30 cost. Beats Big Mountaiz and available in the shop.

I don't remember the rest of the stats though.

Correction, 90 HP, 35 cost. Balth LGs are definitely better than Mountaiz. But requires RT to get them or a spare directly. It's just expensive to get Mountaiz to start with, but then it's only 900 UC to get a spare.

Added ABR and DBMG in request of Atari.

Several things I'd like to nitpick about, but I'll just stick with this:

Quote :
Dikaros

LG
25 cost, 15 HP, 1 STR, 1 WLK, 1 TGH
Low cost LGs, suited more for a S sized Melee tank LND.
Dikaros LG is air-only. It's also tied with skullroid lg for the shortest LG (though it's wider, but that usually overlaps with the AM hitboxes anyway), and unlike skullroid lg it gives tgh, making it great for tiny airs. It's also a lot easier to get en masse compared to skullroid lg.

Embarassed, I'll change that.

I've also made my description of Mountaiz LGs less biased.

Oh, and, if you have a weapon or something to add, give me the stats. Makes my life much easier.

Read the starting part just now. I think you think "tank" means the opposite of what it actually means. If you're tanking a stat you're dropping it (i.e. using high boost alpha raises fly at the cost of tanking wlk).

Looks good. Short enough for the tl;dr hopefully. We seem to get a lot of that -_-''

I can't remember how many beam weapons I have for AIRs listed on mine, but probably around 15 or so.. (Think I ended with Q). If you can't remember or something, you can just go there, cut, paste, to have a more comprehensive list.

Oh, I thought tanking means overly buffing a part. Tanks take alot of damage. So tank HP. That's what I thought. Then, what's a good word for increase heavily?

Oh. My. Dear. God.

How could you forget the Mini Bazooka?!

Ez reference:

Mini Bazooka: 60 cost, -2 WLK, -2 FLY. 23 Force, 160 ammo, 210 range, 280 speed, 540 int, five-shot mag.
Basically the ONLY explosive weapon Airs can use as handheld weps. It's pretty much essential for Air-to-Air combat as the enemy will almost certainly have one. S sized, so L Air will have to make do with SDC or other weapons. 3s can be found in Super UC very easily.

Also, Mach Knight BD has a Bomb Main weapon. Mach Knight BD2(MK1) has the Pulsemissile subweapon.

As much as I hate people using it, I'll add it.

Where2get bomb launcher

And as it's a bomb weapon...I've heard that anything that's classified as a Bomb weapon(like Mach Knight BD) sucks, but I haven't had a Bomb Launcher to test.

I still want a Bomb Launcher for myself. But no way I'm spending alot of RT on a garapon that doesn't have alot of favorable outcomes. I rolled MOE myself and ended up with a Spike Shield (fair as a weapon, just has a bloated cost and long recharge), Laz RUSH, 2 FREAKING MEDI AIDES, and a Misty SIN. I wanted Majalis or Crim.E. Not anymore, though.

Also, I've added Pacifar to notable Garapon bots.
I'll add Gwyain later, but I just need stats and stuff. I could math but I'm lazy.
Added Gwyain, I'll add Gwyain AM2 and Thoarla AM3 in weapons later.

It's absolutely terrible, I promise. I have one and it's not even really worth your curiosity.

Just a lil' somethin' your list of weapons missed.

Stardust Cannon, LL-size, MAIN
Cost: 130
Force: 31
Range: 280
Speed: 260
Int: 1000

Stats: -1 STR, -3 WLK, -2 FLY

One of the, if not the most, favored weapon for L-AIR. Shoots slow, but large beam projectiles that can deal damage to a small area. (I think)

Done.
I'll add the 3 LL sized AMs later. I just need some info about Shaden AM2 though. A video is best.

Charges up for about 1 second then releases 4 beam rifle shots.

Doesn't pierce, horrible accuracy.

Done with the LL sized AIR only AM weapons. I need the stats one Shaden AM2's gun. I need suggestions on what to add later.
