The genre is partly a spinoff of type-S shoujo, girls falling for other girls at school. There's always been a female audience.
The other audience was the male one for "lesbian" porn. Yuri used to only mean this, now used for the all-ages and romance stuff as well.
Modern stuff also includes actual adult relationships between lesbian couples. The audience is farly mixed Comics Yurihime is a 70-30 female-male split, ages: 27% under 20, 23% over 30

Yup it's a bad list. Some of the 18+ stuff there runs in all-ages mags, i.e isn't 18+ Manga has to clearly say if it's adult rated on the cover anyway. Either the whole magazine is 18+ or none of it is.

No the ones it actualy rates as adult: Everything I know on there, except Wildrose and Shoujo Sect. Blue Drop and Gokujou Drops are both from (normal) Yurihime, so not 18+.
They're no worse than Kanazuki no Miko, which isn't rated adult.

Lots of recent anime has it's share of yuri vibes as well like Kanamemo and Candy Boy(too blatant). I'm kinda guilty on enjoying all seasons of Marimite and Strawberry Panic..
