According to Wikipedia, you're right. Bills up to 100,000 dollars used to be in circulation, but they're no longer printed or distributed. And no, bills apparently aren't required to have presidents on them. Just people or things that Americans consider important.

Went to the toilet in the mall. Somebody smoked in there (obviously that wasn't allowed). I found that really odd, it's not like you couldn't do outside here... Oh well whatever. They'll all quit smoking now anyway.
