pierce gun resha was never a joke build, it was a social experiment to see if people were upset about resha was doing to the game or were just upset because of what she did to the game on release and couldn't ever clear their anal cavities about it

i think there's a clear difference between a joke build that's clearly for the amusement of the user or to test a concept(like if you tuned your alia for tec and ran around shooting people with her highly inaccurate piercegun) and a build that is designed to function but just isn't meta relevant(like using outdated weapons)

like a 20str 40tec 34fly pump bazooka build was, at one time, fully functional in arena. Probably still one of the best things to use in beginner rooms(depending on the BD) but won't be as good in normal rooms but there's nothing inherently funny about taking a build that was good 2 years ago and putting it into modern arena and saying "lol joke build!" just because it's no longer a common thing.
