IBM's going all in on this project.  The game is going to be hooked up to IBM's Watson supercomputer. I have no clue if it will be successful or not, but it'll be interesting to watch what happens either way.

Oh, so the Sword Art Online thing was actually a marketing stunt.  The "alpha test" is really a VR-based prequel to the anime.  IBM's supercomputer *is* being used for the event, but there's no actual game in development.
