Most random thing you've seen or done today in real life?

Put 3/4 cup of canola oil into a pot. Heat on the stove until a pinch of flour will excitedly fizzle when dropped in.

Throw 3/4 cup of white flour into the hot oil, all at once, and vigorously whisk. Continue whisking and cook the mixture, known as a roux, until it's light brown and smells like burnt popcorn.

Slowly whisk in 6 cups of milk. If the milk is very cold, the milk may separate from the roux. This is fine. Keep whisking until the mixture is hot and the roux melds with the milk.

Add 3/4 TSP of salt, 1 and 1/2 TSP of ground black pepper and 2-4oz of crumbled, cooked (and drained of oil) sausage.

Bake 10-12 biscuits while continuously stirring the gravy, so that it doesn't burn on the bottom as you continue to thicken it over heat.

Combine and serve your grandparent's scratch-made, french southern style sausage gravy over biscuits, (known as biscuits and gravy in the south.)

Takes approximately two hours from start to finish, but it's worth it to wake up early and do something nice for your elders.

Am back home. Very sad. Vacations shouldn't end - but then, they wouldn't be vacations I guess.

I'm neither married nor do I have the funds for a plane ticket.

I should get out of the area more often, though. The only types of women around here are Christians and pagans.. and the pagans tend to be the yoga / vegetarian / ultra left wing / feminist type of pagans.

Don't worry here vegans are quite rare Except some Indians that eat veggies only on once per week.

I also know that feeling to your just having a nightmare about a college professor, Nothing he says is making any sense, then you are in high school as a adult, the work is easy but then you remember you are in high school as a fucking adult. Then you feel like a giant failure for getting great grades in high school but not being a prodigy in college.

Today I learned of a village in Brazil, which is seen as the village of twins. No really, the rate of twins being born there is high (it is estimated that the current teens have around 50% chance to give birth to twins). Numerous reasons have been tought up, but the most plausibel is that they're the result of genetic engineering of nazi Josef Mengel, who also has the moniker of Angel of Death.

Or it's just the result of german ancestors having good genes for twining and some frequent amount of inter marriage.

Another one is Kodinhi, a remote village in India. That case doesn't have any unnatural doings though.
