What's this? It's an enemy team! Why isn't it bowing before your edgecellency? Because YOU AREN'T EDGY ENOUGH
Ah! It's an Abyss Jikun Hu! What's he going to do? FUCK SHIT UP, THAT'S WHAT HE'LL DO
He's got two methods of pain- stylish breakdancing manslaughter and DARK HOMING ORB OF FUCK YOU
Why play Abyss Jikun Hu?Admittedly, Abyss is just like your run of the mill melee- he's got a melee attack, a ranged attack, and a guard. But he also has his counter dash, which in turn makes him one of the scariest melees in town with a single click. It also grants Crimson Veil and debuffs the attacker with slow turn. Plus, he has the potential to be
extremely tanky.
Let's go over what Abyss can do:
1.
Parts1a. GuardGuard exists to prevent you from being stunned and to significantly reduce/nullify any incoming ranged shit headed your direction that would otherwise fuck up your day. Shit's gay, so what you need to do nigga is hold left click and laugh that gayass shit off and right click at them. Limited ammo and SHARES COOLDOWN WITH PHANTOM BLAZE so use it accordingly.
1b. Phantom BlazeSo some nigga's laughing at you about 30 feet in the air? Easy, you fuck his shit up with a magic dark ball of I DON'T GIVE A FUCK and he drops. Literally. Phantom Blaze is a fairly fast homing main that serve the purpose of stunning enemies from afar. It serves a magnificent role for gap closing because it often drops your opponents from the air and it stuns a total of three times in a row. While that dweeb is keeling over in agony from your phantom blaze, you fuck him up with EDGELORD BREAKDANCING and styling over him. Limited ammo and SHARES COOLDOWN WITH GUARD- i can't tell you how many times i've shot a phantom blaze then tried to switch to guard, only to eat a face full of missiles and beams. Be EXTREMELY cautious when and where you use this, as a poorly timed shot could be the difference between 20 damage and 200 damage. Also, be wary that this deals MELEE damage, so anything that can counter melee can counter this.
1c. Blaze Rush"people do not die when they are killed; they die when they are styled upon" - anonymoose 20xxThe most fucking stylish melee attack you'll ever witness in your meager, feeble life. EDGELORD 420 [MLG] ABYSS spins, kicks, and breakdances his way across the battlefield and styles over any poor fool he encounters. Not only do you style over any unfortunate nigga that encounters you, but you can also EXTEND HIS COMBO BY DELAYING YOUR CLICKS. Similarly to the esteemed Professor Ouak, you too can have a PhD in FUCKING EVERYONE'S SHIT UP and having a total hit count of 9. Unfortunately this extra added attack serves most useful as a method of chasing since using it on a single target that's rooted in place from stuns generally results in you comboing out of reach; Edgekun does not like staying in place for long. First hit generally tends to have super armor of some sort.
DOUSHITA
1d. Counter Dashwhat's this stylin' dash? It's Abyss' TURBO MEGA FUCKING OVERDRIVE OF CERTAIN DEATH. This purple dash of death turns any incoming melee attacks into delicious tears for Abyss to consume, making him the true BLAZELORD. For the first second of proccing the counter, all them gayass status debuffs are consumed in a BLAZE of GLORIOUS FURY. You then get FREE CRIMSON VEIL and
the ability to style over gods. That's right- your blaze rush is buffed. Feeble non-edgelords will now suffer the wrath of a million blows to their frail frames as you now deal much more damage and hit a bunch more times (essentially just phantom blazes added to each melee attack). This also has really good tracking and is particularly great for that last bit of reach you need to hit those pesky airs. This combos right into two kicks from his Blaze Rush so you also get a damage boost. Also the moment some unsuspecting whelp procs your counter, you gain a very brief moment of invincibility, allowing you to effectively counter Haku's nuke, fire pillar, and tornadoes (you still get knocked back by the tornadoes because of the second of clearance however).
2.
General StrategyYou can play him with Great Grappler tunes or High Gladiator tunes- both offer different playstyles.
2a. Great GrapplerYou need to rely on your enemies not noticing you to dive in and completely fuck shit up. But then again, that's generally how melee is anyway. If you're playing "assassin type" melee you're going to benefit tremendously from boost run and/or assault step to get into enemy placements and out of harms way really fast. Great Grappler (1x~2x) tunes are usually recommended for this build (3x Great Grappler would obliterate your travelling), as your main method of traveling and chasing would come from boostrunning or assault stepping. However, bear in mind that this also makes it difficult to chase foes in the air, even with phantom blaze and extended melee comboing.
2b. High Gladiator What's that, an air got you down? Just
barely out of reach most of the enemy most of the time? High Gladiator tunes might be what you need. Even with Abyss' extended combo, sometimes Great Grappler just can't reach things as well as it should. High Gladiator tunes make Abyss a monster with chasing, effectively making his air combo a deadly weapon for obliterating flying and grounded targets alike. I'd personally recommend only 1 and then put grapplers for the other weapon tunes. This build doesn't require boost run or assault step to get in and out of situations, but it helps.
Blaze Rush Sub Tune Examples:[Great Grappler Alpha] [Great Grappler Alpha] [Stat Tune/Grappler] - Highest damage, shortest reach and little travel. Benefits tremendously from assault step/boost run
[Great Grappler Alpha] [Grappler] [Grappler] - Second highest damage, greater reach. However, air comboing is still fairly hindered. Boost run/assault step helps a lot.
[High Gladiator] [Grappler] [Grappler] - Excellent air combo reach, decent damage. Boost run/assault step helps, but isn't as needed.

Cartridge Rundown(Just covering some important ones)
Capacity Cartridges - Try to snag as many as you can. +10 HP per capa cart is also neat.
Blast Guard - Obligatory
Sword Guard- Abyss lacks a built in powerless function so this is pretty much a must if you're going after other melees.
Boost Run - Helps him move really fucking fast and allows him to chase fleeing foes with ease. Only con is that his animation while boost running is a slide, lol. Handy if you can build around it.
Sway - Allows Abyss to dodge from side to side without needing to worry about gettin capped. With custom sway, this dash cart is very nice on him. ALSO FEATURES HIS EDGETASTIC DASH ANIMATIONS
Short Boost - Helps with hitting airs hovering just above you and utilizing Abyss' air combo. Not as nice as some other options, but has its uses.
Fast Recovery - Seeing how Abyss only gets clearance for a depressing single second, fast recovery allows you to get debuffs off you while in blaze mode in record time. Definitely recommended.
Stun Regain - You're not going to be in blaze mode all of the time, so stun regain helps immensely if you're caught off-guard by some dum nigga. Recommended.
Stealth System - Funny cart; allows you to run around the enemy lines mostly unseen since lol can't be seen on radar. Hit or miss, it has the potential to be pretty dumb if you can fit it but don't build around it.
Assault Step - DOESN'T LOOK AS NICE AS SWAY. But this sexy cart is available for you for a mere 15 cost. Allows Abyss to close gaps very quickly, which is really handy. Recommended.

ReviewAbyss excels in melee duelling as he has a ranged stun and a counter at his disposal. With sword guard, he seldom loses in melee combat. He makes for a fantastic melee defender, as he can curbstomp any melee that tries bumrushing your team. Of course, he also makes for a pretty good crowd diver too. His reach really shows on the ground, but his tracking can often lead to his death. Be wary when crowd diving- one second you could be kicking toward some loser with a shield and the next you could be going backwards. Although, his sporadic tracking does allow him to weave through crowds too, but try and judge when the best time to attack is.
On the topic of tuning, Abyss greatly benefits from 40 STR (like all melees). WLK based should have the run-of-the-mill 36 WLK if you're not using boost run, but aim for at least orange tier boost run if you are. 38 WLK is recommended for the assault step breakpoint if you're going for it. Crimson Veil and Clearance tunes are unnecessary because of the Crimson Veil that his counter grants. Because of the incredibly painful nature of melee attacks, you're going to want to tune on a lot of hp; 500 hp is the lowest I'd go for. Alternatively, you could try and tune on some TGH. I haven't tried this but it seems like it could potentially work too, but I'd sooner recommend slapping on more HP. Feel free to nuke TEC down to 0 and below like most melees, as bits don't really benefit him enough to warrant saving TEC.
Abuse Phantom Blaze as often as you can if you're on the attack- even a moment of immobility should give you the chance you need to completely shred whatever poor nerd you see. Generally try to avoid being spotted by the enemy team to get the drop on most dorks. Always remember that cover is your friend, and that it loves having you around. cover love you long time and you should love it too
Update- Sword DriveReinforce S - ABYSS STEPS UP TO THE PLATE TO EQUIP POWERLESS BETA AND TURN EVERYONE INTO WHAT THEY REALLY ARE: POWERLESS BETAS. EX Powerless Beta is definitely a solid choice on him, but EX Melt also works. Although, against another melee, EX Powerless Beta might get the job done more efficiently.
Armor Breaker - Procs on his ranged attack, successful counter, and the first hit of his rush combo (THE FIRST TWO, IF YOU DELAY YOUR CLICKS NIGGA)
Lifetaker - Procs all the damned time but it never heals enough to be worthwhile. While perfect on paper for fighting melees, it doesn't heal enough to do it justice.
Berserk Clearance - Since you can't proc clearance during BLAZE IT MODE, this is godlike.
HP +30 - For facetanking other melees, this is a must.
Meditation - GODLIKE if you're running boostrun, otherwise you can pass.
Aerial Fighter - GODLIKE FOR REACHING AIRS but if you're running ggraps don't bother
First guide, I'm probably missing a shitload of information. Lemme know if I should mention or add anything
