Has anyone ever hear/played a card game called magic the gathering? I just feel kinda out there because most people in my area don't play.

Magic Cards used to be the talk of the town, I never played though. I think you can find a lot about them in the wikipedia/google/whatever.

Yeah I used to play MtG. I used to play Standard format, but with student allowance being bitchy to me, I more into EDH format. Wait EDH is called Commander format these days. Feel free to ask me anything about MtG. I'll try my best to help you.

I played back when Revised was the current edition. My favorite deck was a Ball Lightning / Blood Lust / Berserk deck that could perform a one turn kill.

Then, I quit for several years, after they started to become whores.

I came back for two years during the Torment / Judgement period. I had a game control deck with the shield card (the one that I can't take damage or be the target of any spell or ability) and a bunch of wishes. I beat people by either running them out of cards, killing them with a 1/1 creature (over the course of many turns) or just plain making them give up.

I still have that deck around here, somewhere.

here ya go. This is a simulated MtG game where you can play against the AI. The AI is quite good and it has the database from the 1st set up until the latest one, Theros. They have a good community who always update the game regularly in accordance to the newer set by WotC.

I got a theros booster box and ended up with Ashiok. I made a deck using mainly huge cards to run over opponents. I have Tamiyo the Moon sage in there aswell. Oh god she's such a troll,"+1: Tap target permanent. It doesn't untap during its controller's next untap step. -2: Draw a card for each tapped creature target player controls, & finally the ultimate:-8:You gain and emblem with "You have no maximum handsize" and "Whenever a card is put into a graveyard from anywhere, you may return it to your hand." HURP DURP NO KILLING MY CRAP FO YOU! Lorthos is a beast; 8/8 for 8, When he attacks you can pay 8 and he taps 8 fucking permanents and they don't untap during their controllers next untap step. The problem with the deck is that their is next to no life gain, so you can screwed easily. Any tips for blue baddases to add to the deck?

Dude what format are you playing for? For the most badass blue is Jace TMS haha.

I'm not playing for any format. Just casual play with friends. I wanna go to a grand prix aswell mainly because I know exactly what colors I would go in. Blue/Black cuz it's the 2 most baddass colors. (In my opinion anyways. Ex: Nice Avacyn, CANCELED!)

What ruined MTG was that WOTC issued different wordings for the same card.. then decided to make all the wordings for all the cards invalid and only the wordings on the official website are valid. So, if you want to play MTG with old cards, you have to have a computer right fucking next to you and look up every card you have and every card your opponent has. It's too much of a fucking hassle to even bother, at this point.

Yeah that's also why I quit standard. Luckily for me, I won a local tourney, grand prize of flight ticket to Philiphines pro tour. Sold that ticket to a friend cuz I still dont have passport, and bought an iPhone 4 haha. It happened around 4 years ago.

Now if you just want to chill with friends, EDH, planechase, and archenemy is the most fun casual format available.

Honestly, the way I play is going to ymca camps as an lit and play with the kids. Stop having a dirty mind.

My older brothers played this all the time when I was a kid, but I never understood it. They taught me how to play it when I was 13 or so though XD
