If you are on Win7 or Vista, right click on the volume speaker icon, and select "Recording Devices"
In the white area of the window where it shows the Microphone, right click and ensure that both "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices" is checked.
You should find a "Stereo Mix" appear on the list, but it will be shadowed out.
Right Click, "Enable Device"
Done.
Now just select Stereo Mix as your source in Hypercam's recording options, under the sounds tab.
If you want to play your own music to record while you play, disable the in game BMG through the options menu with the slider. Big red button saves your changes.

I think your sound card has to also support it, or one of the windows updates addresses the issue. I forget what exactly the catch was when you don't see it.

It's usually an issue dealing with a sound card, If "Stereo mix" Isn't appearing inside the recording tab, Try plugging in a headset and then trying again,
I for one use USB speakers, And it registers as a completely different device other than Stereo mix on my computer.
