But it could and would of been far worse,

Technically,
Before i edited that topic on here,
It was considered harassment to some degree,
If there was no defined degree to it,
Sure it would of became a bannable offense.
And I probably would of left it to some other moderator to handle it....
But wait,
If someone were to ban people posting inside the said topic,
Even for an X amount of time,
They'd still become pissy about it and not understand why.
Otherwise it would neccessarily take two people to settle that.

Instead,
I causally changed it so it wouldn't seem as harmful to a average eye,
Locked the topic,
And intentionally made it some the blame would be redirected at me.
Yet no one would of realized this as they'd be too busy trying to complain about what I did.

On another instance,
Which may be considered a "final act"
I modified a post written by sunjae,
An easy reason to do so is so we wouldn't have to bring up the whole Sash/a/ incident.

And his whiney incompitence just left him to give a final complaint towards Sliferx,
Making him remove my moderation as of now.
He did so only to the reasons that he was tired of people hearing the recent complaints regarding Desu,
And because I disobeyed him.

As they would be wanting to "throw the book" at anyone as fast as possible,
This indeed happened to me,
Yet reasons were there to come,
Misunderstandings are presumably fixed,

I hated Sash/a/. Hated his guts. But he should not have been banned. The slippery slope that I mentioned in Sunjae's thread is happening. The troll got banned, came back at his favored target and got that target into a frenzy, now that mod, provoked by Sash/a/'s trolling is dividing the forum into the 'powerful' who have friendship of the more active mod, and the 'weak' who might get banned at first complaint of trolling from the mod's friends.

Now, we've lost one of the more level headed and subtle mods... If this doesn't stop, these boards could crumble in a battle between the crusader mods and a nearly inevitable flood of trolls.

If we were allowed to vote for a mod, that would give those who voted in favor of that mod a belief that they should be spared from that mod's hand of action. Otherwise, they would feel disgruntled that the mod they voted in bites the hand that feeds when the mod does his role like he should. So yes, Admin should pick the staff, though he can consider the opinions of the board or ask if anyone agrees with his decision.

Mods generally don't ban users who bash them, because it makes it seem as if it was an entirely personal reason. When you are a mod, you generally are not supposed to make any action that could be inferred as [only] personal (not that the person effects the entire community, or harassed another member vulgerly, and posted without any intellectual vision). Thus, another mod has to step in and take over the situation when another mod is involved.

It works like you'd see in Police dramas. You can not work on a case where the victim is personally related to you, even if you would be able to find the killer, as you are a suspect, no matter how silly it seems, and could throw the entire case to shit by them deciding that your presence posed a possibility for you to tamper with evidence that may have held you even minutely responsible.

Thus, you can not ban someone on the grounds that they ridicule you when you are enforcing peace. You instead have to show that you are mature enough to ignore it, or be light hearted about it and be like "Yeah, I hate me too sometimes". Otherwise, you effect the image of yourself being able to moderate effectively.

Typically, when there is content to ban a member, the mods discuss it first. To ban without giving fair warning or reason, tends to alienate and enrage the person being banned. Banning without talking it over with other staff, well, then you are also showing that you are not a team player if you don't even consult your fellow mods ahead of time.


In general, I don't see Desu as having done anything yet to have required him be removed from Mod privileges. I also don't feel he'd censor what you claim you said. Also, because there are other mods here outside of him, and the board probably does not log so the admin can oversee every action of his staff, who is to say it was Desu even?
