A Simple Guide to Vehicles Empty
PostSubject: A Simple Guide to Vehicles   A Simple Guide to Vehicles EmptyTue Mar 05, 2013 7:43 pm

I don't know why I made this, I hate vehicles.

NOTE: Vehicles shouldn't be used unless you know there are suitable passengers on your team. Without coordinated vehicle-passenger setups you're actually holding the team back by not playing an offensively-capable bot.

Role of a vehicle:
-Providing a massive mobility boost to bots that aren't normally mobile

Relevant tools to accomplishing this:
-WLK/FLY - Obvious.
-HP - You want to be durable; you are your passenger's legs.
-TGH or CV tunes - Again, you are your passenger's legs; they need to stay mobile, so you need to be able to keep moving.
-Clearance/Fast Recovery/Anti-Slow - Same deal.
-Broad Radar - Not necessary but it's useful to know where to bring your passenger for best results.
-Boost Run - Again, not necessary, but as you're a bot focused on movement anyway you have the potential to be REALLY REALLY FAST. Mandatory on Wild Vehic.

Role of a passenger:
-Dealing massive amounts of damage
-Protecting your Vehicle

Relevant tools to accomplishing this:
-TEC - Obvious
-Lots of weapons - Since you just sit still and enjoy the ride, there's no movement penalties to worry about from alpha striking.
-HP - If there's spare capa in your build it should go here. As legs vanish while riding, all passengers that are able to should use Baltheon LG.

Vehic Types

LND
Wild Vehic
-Unlimited (or just long duration? I don't have one) Boost Run while carrying a passenger.
-Has two 4 force gatlings. Low damage output, but better than nothing, and can be useful for helping pop vainics or charging your bit.
-Dash sub allows for two quick bursts of speed, fantastic for escaping quickly.
-Poor cartridge selection; notably the only Vehicle without Broad Radar, and lacks other useful defensive cartridges. Cart choices will probably center around Boost Run/Sway or Short Boost+Quick Land/Guard carts.

Megaton Titan
-Core melee tackle; more powerful melee while carrying a passenger. Can be improved with EIWs.
-Nine more slots available than Wild Vehic.
-Two open hand slots for holding whatever.
-Superior cartridge list, but no Free Boost Run limits his mobility compared to Wild Vehic.

Xmas Lazflamme
-Can hold two passengers at once.
-Has the Air Run cartridge preinstalled at lv0.
-Same dash as Wild Vehic, except Laz drops presents behind her that inflict stun during the dash (I believe these proc GV now).
-Fairly similar to Ritter Laz stat/cartwise.
-Open hand slots are probably best used for Handy Magnum/Handy Bazooka/Pompoms/Bucklers.

AIR
Lark Pit
-Gains Propellant while carrying a passenger.
-Unable to carry ART types; Lepscepter AM/Assault Ox AM2 alpha LNDs with various bazookas/missiles, or Pepo Pucci Torte, will probably be your preferred passengers.
-Core lightning gun exists for the same purpose as Wild Vehic's gatlings; EIWs highly discouraged.
-Features a 30-ammo stovl that does a sort of dipping airdash when used midair.
-Thanks to Propellant and your passenger maintaining orientation, Accele Roll/Air Loop are both highly effective and easier to use offensively. STR also isn't needed for Prop Bits.

SUP
Medicball
-Not intended for offensive use. Treat it as a standard medic instead of a vehicle.
-Passengers receive the Auto-Repair buff.
-Comes equipped with a repair gun arm (15HP/bullet) and a shock bazooka
-Wide variety of mobility cartridges (Boost Run/Short Boost/Float Dash/Quick Land/Quick Boost)

Bonus: Example passenger builds

pretty sure TURBOFAG mode involves burst fire shock bazooka supports sitting on the laz with the faggot artillery as they run through the air with max boost run shitting damage everywhere and being untouchable to anything aside from mialys

Bonus points if it's a Regina to drag them alongside your hypershot artillery

Just want to note a few things about your guide Sugu

  • Wild Vehic gains infinite boost run while a passenger is on board; there is a symbol to notify the driver of this on the area of the screen where buffs are shown.
  • Using Short Boost then the STOVL on Lark Pit will allow Lark Pit to go up 4 (5 with Quick Jump) elevation bars instead of the normal 3; Short boosting backwards and activating this will allow anywhere from 5-7 elevation gains at once.
  • Using Air Loop/Accell Roll on Lark Pit will also affect your passenger, meaning that Air Loop will severely affect the aiming of your passengers and Accell Roll could cause problems if used while going sideways.

You sure that still works? They patched a lot of the bigger hopstovls awhile ago, only ones I remember surviving were the Full Boost animation types (AG/Eve/Swift Jet) and Featoro BS.

Yep, it still works even after the patch was applied.

It's also worth noting that the STOVL when used midair gives you Shaden BS / Seraph Wing FLY speed for while the animation goes, making it great for use between Accell Rolls when escaping.

Opening post essentially answered your question, you should really try thinking before asking to be spoon fed.

Ask yourself what role you wish to fulfill with your vehicle.

Look at its weapons and ask yourself if the weapons are in any way useful as damage dealer even tuned.

Ask yourself if tuning these weapons will in any way assist you in fulfilling your role.

It's really not rocket science.

Coordinated. yep.

In CB-KR, two people each have their own Lark Pit... and their MB unit. they really rack up scores. (They were using Accel Saber BD for this... and grenades. Burn and Wave Slash at everything it seems)

I should check them out later again.

Suguri, I thought I'd point out that the MedicBall's built in Shock Bazooka is oriented slightly towards the ground, instead of being level with the ground...unless you aim slightly high while walking or standing still, your shots are very likely to go into the ground right in front of you....

...at least, that's what my tests have shown.... Smile

ITS TIME! FINAL FUSION! Shiro's rider bot tips! Plz add
1. when using rider bot, due to high mobility of vec, plz use large amount of homing weapons. Be sure to make sure all weapon on the rider do not cause global cool down
2. do not fire pillar in the car, plane or spaceship, it is unsafe. use wind pillar for magical escape plan
3. when making rider bot with no built in sub weapon, plz attach disco ball accessory to prevent accidental and untimely dismounts when alpha striking
4.I recommend revenge shot cart for muchi riders. there is nice difference in how long ammo lasts with and without it. tested with Chloe VS muchi with burst missile AMJ. Muchi lasted a good 20-ish more rounds due to revenge shot. BTW, Chloe make decent rider bot. plz explore options if anyone is interested.
5. Suguri, update your LND rider. i highly recommend psycho formula rawr AMJ, Dagomure AM2, and the most important of all, hand held Burst missiles. Rawr AMJ and bust missiles, their ammo last longer than the weapon in the current build. also longer rng. rwar AMJ, due to being a psygun, can locate targets beneath ground, in caves, etc.

6. plz do not forget to include Dylan in Vec Thread. even though it has a decent weapon arsenal, it is still at it best a vec. after much testing, hypothetical build for Vec Dylan would be 38 fly, 40 tec, loads of HP, CV/clearance /more HP. EIW is pointless, i do not recommend it. sticking to vec principles, Dylan should be mobile at all times. thus, limit alpha strike to 1 burst. at 40 tec, the 20 ammo core cannon should more than enough for targeting crowds. since rifle AM@ are useless, detach and use the 80capa for something else.
Dylan does not have any anti air capabilities, thus a rider is necessary for a fully functional Dylan.

thank you , have fun FINAL FUSION
