It's coming!
Guild Wars 2 has finally left Alpha stage and has moved on to Beta stage. Currently, the only people allowed in CW2B are the press, and over the weekend (the 17th to the 19) there will most likely be loads of GW2 information being created. No information will be allowed out until the 20th, however. It'll be worthwhile to pay attention to news sites and YouTube from Monday onwards.
http://www.arena.net/blog/dragon Hopefully the game will be out of Beta by June/July, if not sooner.
A lot of people are looking forward to this game, and have been for the last five years. Why? For starters, it's obviously the sequel to the original Guild Wars. It'll be expanded on the amazing graphic style the original had, and expanding the concept into a completely new race - the Sylvari - while bringing back the formerly unplayable races, the Charr, the Asura, and the Norn (personally, I'm looking forward to the Charr ).
Secondly - the game breaks the Holy Trinity. There are no healers, no tanks. Everyone can heal, everyone can tank. Of course, there are still limits up to which you can do this, but it's still badass awesome. It also focuses on eight main classes: the Warrior, the Guardian, the Necromancer, the Elementalist, the Ranger (now with pet skills not taking up your hotbar!), the Engineer, and the Mesmer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfE_Xu9H1Bw&feature=endscreen&NR=1
Third - the PVP system. There's World VS World VS World, where you pit server vs server vs server, and this changes every two weeks, eliminating the "one server over-powers the other two" problem. Also, like in GW, you can start off PvPing immediately. You get trebuchets and catapults and all sorts of wondrous things, with locations you must hold. It looks awesome for PvP, and I'm not much of a PvPer aside from in CosmicBreak. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJC28DUQcZs&feature=relmfu http://www.arena.net/blog/mike-ferguson-on-guild-wars-2-world-vs-world
Fourth - the ocean. Every body of water, every lake, river, ocean is now explorable. You don't need to worry about breathing, either. Your gear and hotkeys instantly change after you go underwater, and you now can play with both the x and y axis along with underwater-only skills and weapons and pets.
Fifth - Dynamic events. Within every map you visit, there will be dynamic events. If you fail the event, bad things happen. If you do well on the event, good things happen. And you can do a majority of things to tip the scale of that event - no more being limited to senseless slaughter to reach the next objective! And these events scale, so even one person or a hundred can do them without the event being too hard or difficult. Also, no more kill-stealing.
Not to mention loads of other reasons this game'll be awesome. Sorry for all the TotalBiscuit but I can't find any more interesting commentary on the game than what he already has.

Did I mention that gear is apparently purely cosmetic, and you don't even have to search for dyes?
Also, skills are tied to your weapon, so you can easily change play-styles within a few seconds.

Well, you can start pre-ordering GW2 on April the 10th/11th, and there will be lots of online and offline retailers.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/User:Stephane_Lo_Presti/GW2_prepurchase_retailers_list < Current list of retailers, will be updated as time goes on.
Pre-orders are pretty expensive, with the cheapest being $60 iirc. But if you buy the more expensive pre-orders, you can get figurines/art books/other things. I'm not really happy with the starting price, as there's almost no way I'll be able to pre-order it for that much, but at least we're making progress. ;__;

From what I've seen, I think I will.

I like the concept of the endgame in GW2. It's not based on who's got the best gear and who frequents the raids like in World of Warcraft - it's all determined by how far you are into world events, so there's no need for you to hope and cross your fingers on that elusive Epic sword you've been wanting on your warrior for months from grinding a raid boss.
Got big hopes for this game.

"Everyone plays at the same level in Guild Wars 2 PvP, where skill and strategy provide players with the winning edge. All players are set to max level and given all the skills and gear they need to meet their opponents on even terms."
this info is found at the guild wars 2 website. (cosmic break does not allows me to post websites)
not sure if its real, but it brings a shed of light to me whom likes to pvp without paying $2000 to win.
dragonica online and most other mmorpgs out there have those kinds of enchanting system requires a lot of real money totally ruins the pvp for me.
but still there are cons for GW2: not sure if my laptop can take it. and they are not based on cute anime characters

Just reviving this topic again, because I almost posted it again... and then I remembered there is a search option.
Anyways! Now the game has been out for a while... What you guys think?
I love it a lot ^_^ Its really a unique concept of mmorpg.
Yet I somehow cant get used to the new dungeon concept, where no real "tanks" and "healer" exist xD. I fail so hard... yet!

i happen to play guardian and i can assure you a guardian can be played as tank and as a healer. its just that the dps´s sorry asses cant be carried by a healer like it is the case in other games. a elementalist should also be able to heal a lot, but i didnt lvl mine to 80 yet and didnt experiment much
didnt play in a good month, though, mostly because of 2 issues: i dont have that much time and my PC is a bit on the weak side, making RvR a bit troublesome
