First music Ill defend hiphop
Perfect example of it done right wu tang
Complex flows
Message is anti government, iluminati,Anti music industry cause dat shits corrupt as hell.
Flow complex beats that are soatheing and aggressive at the same time.
Use of poetry big words metaphors etc. They understand what they say bonus points
Value I have yet to meet a person over 25 who doesent love em white black asian etc.
2nd ill defend rap
Pretty much the same as hiphop just modern day and more agreesive
dubstep when done right is Undescribebal and is just genuis thats all I can say
2nd link is a skrillex and scary monsters and nice spiders remix
So now Whats left
Metal ok dis is a guilty pleasure most of the time but it has its gyms
This is a german metal bad but I get there messages in there songs. And its helps when lifting wieghts or doing mma training =).Great vocals. The guitar playing is good.Artistic value it insults art in a artisic way =D. Message um I dont speak german =(
Disturbed Pretty much same deal as rap but in a more agressive manner. And will use Mtyhs and tales of gods as metaphors at times.
Orchesta well its fucking epic period u cant not like it Ill just pic my 2 fav songs.
brb I have to killa few dragons now maybe break a few tigers necks after listen to that stuff my doctor said not to listen to it.
Rock when done right should be the perfect mix of soft lyriccs and a hard beat. PERFECT MUSIC FOR GETTING OVER A X no really nthn worse than loosing a girl u thought was right then she gets engaged to some one else a few months later.
ROck should relate threw something u going threw theres all kinds of well rock
This was my fav song before going to a party =D.

My tastes are wide. Very wide. However, if I must, I'll limit it to J-Pop, Anison, and a special unexplainable genre Game Music.
J-Pop:
Your ears are probably grating now, but I find it cute. This is one variety of J-Pop that I love, bordering trance and pop. I like the other varieties too though. I just have a penchant for trance, techno, and pop varieties.
Anison:
Just look at it. And listen. It's all self-explanatory I swear. Actually, I shouldn't have said Anison and just said JAM Project but yeah.
Game Music: Game music has to be extremely diverse. So I'll limit it further to a particular example: Ar tonelico. I love a lot of them, with or without lyrics.
By diversity I mean it could sound like this:
or this:
Following BT's format, here's my defense:
J-Pop: Variable flow; message isn't necessarily about love, varies as well; it's pretty niche already, and its sub-genres are even moreso
AnisonJAM Project: I cannot explain this. If I tried, I would implode.
Game music: Variable flow; usually doesn't impart a message, but rather sets a mood (although Ar tonelico's songs are actually programming codes); not all people like listening to plain instrumentals, fairly niche (I like niche stuff)

Industrial
The first genre that is near and dear to my heart would be Industrial. I was first introduced to it in 1996 in Graphical Arts class in High School. Despite being loud, angry music that seems to promote nihilism, it often points out the hypocrisy that exists in this world. I passionately love the fusion of metal and synthesized sounds.
Marilyn Manson - 1996 (With Lyrics)
This song actually inspired me to have the online name that I have. My first online game was Unreal Tournament on the Sega Dreamcast. I was Antichrist until I joined my first clan, and then found out that there was a character limit in the game. So, I had to shorten my name to be able to wear the clan tags, so I chose Antigod.. except I didn't spell it that way. Haxor spelling was all the rage in 1998, so I became AnTi90d
Nine Inch Nails - Wish
If I love Manson, I just have to love old Nine Inch Nails. (Specifically, before he turned into a wuss and started making crap music.) They are pertinent to each other in that Manson used Reznor to get into the music industry. Once he had made it, he left Reznor and broke his heart. Listen to the album The Fragile. It is what Reznor wrote about Manson. Every time he says She he is talking about Brian Warner. When Manson learned that he wrote an album (2 discs) about him, he decided to apologize and they made up before the title track's video was shot (Star****ers.) He is in that video, but you don't realize it until the end.
Symphonic Death Metal
I also dearly love Symphonic Death Metal. It is more high brow than normal death metal, in that it incorporates orchestral instruments, vocal harmonization (sometimes from many people) and some synthetic sounds. The lyrical content ranges from love songs to anti-religious themes and contains many ballads. Most people just hear chaos when they listen to this genre, but something in my brain, (perhaps all the LSD I have ingested,) focuses on the harmonizations instead of the chaos. I find this type of music to be very relaxing.
Cradle of Filth - The Forest Whispers My Name
If you listen to this band, don't listen to anything made after 2002.. it sucks. This band lost the soul of their music and now whores themselves out for profit. Their old work, however, is beautiful. This is from their second album, Vempire, also entitled Dark Faerytales in Phallustei. This is one of their love songs. (I do so adore that harp.)
Punk
Ah, punk, the most versatile genre. You can be a punk band and sing about anything.. and the greatest thing about punk is that it is the most realistic music that I listen to. It doesn't take tens of thousands of dollars of equipment to make a decent punk album. All you need are cheap instruments, some microphones and some intoxicants. It is a very simplistic genre.
Dead Milkmen - Death's Alright With Me
This band is highly political. Despite having formed in 1983 and lost a member, they are STILL making music and touring. I love this band so much I took the audio files of their tapes (before they had a label and made CD's) and split them apart into separate MP#'s. (PM me for the link to the torrent.. and yes, the band knows about it and the drummer even made a comment on my upload.. Hah.. I even was the one that sent the drummer the Demonoid invitation.)
The Dicks - Police (Force)
This is a band from the 80's from Texas with an openly gay lead singer. If anyone doesn't already know, people in Texas don't take kindly to their types 'round there. They are still touring, although they haven't made an album in over two decades. They are less politically motivated and more focused on day to day life, emotions and encounters with other people.
As you can tell, I don't like current music. I find most bands that gets radio play to be soulless and devoid of anything real. I hate new metal, I despise new punk and I am disgusted with most humans' willingness to consume what is put in front of them.

Old school hardcore. Too many catchy tunes, quality, done in the days when most computers were as about as powerful as calculators. Had a unique culture associated with it. Jazz
Jazz music is amazing, it covers a verity of feelings from blues to more upbeat tunes. its classy and generally just makes you feel ways about things. some people think jazz is just smooth sax play but jazz can use a verity of different instruments
kids these days don't know what the jazz is all about, they too busy listening to the rap music
jazz being able to cover so many different feelings without even needing the addition of words, without words the song doesn't need its own message the message is what you make of it.
jazz flows seamless throughout its play, flowing through the notes to achieve the feelings the musician wishes the listeners to feel
Art doesn't have rules, art is art, however beautiful or ugly, straight forward or confusing, static or flowing. art is what ever the person chooses to make of it.
just like any form of language it is important to culture, all types of music is important to culture, even if you might think that something like rap or pop songs are horrible they are still important to the cultures they come from, even if its bieber culture (bleh).
Touhou remixes are easy to find which cover a verity of different jazz styles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGzLnTXsEXw& https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfHqax8wAbE& https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPM7ljw9xXc&
jazz can even mix with other genres to make amazing sounds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yp8BSTB7Mow& https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_nP18qGJ7s&
Nujabes was an amazing musician, seamlessly mixing many genres like jazz, rap and hip-hop to make the most amazing music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nehYBw__AyQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgXxDFvfdhM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvcQWJaaQDw
does music really need to be defended? music is amazing in all its forms, sure there may be songs in the genre that doesn't appeal to the listener, but judging a whole genre on just one song? thats like judging a whole race based on what you see on T.V
edit: yfw Nujabes name is Seba Jun (hint read it backwards)
