All Aussie Players Unite!

Aussie Players, we are the laggiest game players ever to exist on the earth. Why? Because we're proud to live in this country with a federal government taxing us on everything possible. They tax us on goods, services, our wages, salaries, food, and now carbon. Guess what's next? Oxygen. There are literally no MMO game servers in our country, aside from Runes of Magic, Runescape, Minecraft servers and a few shady places.

Our Government is working on the National Broadband network which will decrease our lagginess by 2020, which is unfortunately 9 years away, and by then the world will have even faster internet. Meaning our lagginess will stay with us for a long, long, long time. Compared to the Korean internet which uses optical fibre cables and has speeds which can download a HD movie ripped straight out of a blu-ray disk within 5 seconds, our internet sucks built with mostly landline copper cables.

Aside from all that, who's an Aussie player? I'm one of them and here are the ones I know.

I've played with many Aussies in my gaming career, and I never really knew why they all had crap internet connections until you explained it. In the group that I play with when I play Mechwarrior 4, we have several Australian players and they are constantly lagging out and have frequent latency issues. All of their net problems aside, they have all been surprisingly polite and well mannered for random people online. I just wish I could understand what they are saying on Teamspeak. (Damn, that makes me long for MW.. The head programmer that was putting together the latest update for the game had his house burn down and now everything is on hiatus. That was the main reason that I started playing this game.)

I only lag if i use up all my internet bandwidth, i don't really feel much lag other than the usual lag spikes from the server.
