Question about Malca's cartridge's and playstyle

I know little about proper builds so I've been checking out some from the old guides as well as some youtube videos.

Quick jump and air loop seem pretty much straightforward for any air type. But some videos I've seen have Float Dash. Can anyone explain the logic behind taking Float Dash? Or am I being trolled?

Mainly to ensure quick escape if you are dropped from the air.
Also the cost. Quick Jump probably cost double of the f.dash and I don't think it's worth it much now, as they've introduced this new cart 'Ascending Force'(rename of the Augmented Thrusters cartridge from Boost Drive) which does almost similar job as Quick Jump but cost less.
