Can't believe this game is actually done for. I remember meeting my first set of >real< online friends on this game around 7 or so years ago. A shame, rest in peace

It's been a fun ride fellas.

Not surprised much. Still a little sad to see it go.

What can I say? The game is indeed visionary, customization is unprecedented and there will unlikely be another game that allows such freedom.
(Maybe except MUGEN idk)
But just like any other gacha game, the kids don't want to be creative, they want to win. And when the meta defining characters are locked behind RNG and heavy investment... it's understandable why is the game turning away new players. Then new characters get introduced, the meta shifts, tryhards get frustrated for the nth time due to not having said character if they aren't lucky, the cycle continues.
There may be tons of other factors, such as poor PR, poor optimization, poorly handled balancing, wrongly placed focus on updating content, the list goes on. What can be sure, however, is that this is a game unlike any other, and I am indeed sad to see that it has to end just like this.

Cosmic Break, you will be missed and i hate you for making me not being able to enjoy any other games for having comparatively limited customizations anymore.

PSO2 finally releases in the west and CB finally dies.

i actually still have the voice stuff from Cosmic Break Sky Squad. and Rouche was heavily used there. .-.

I've been "told" on a GetAmped2 discord chat that GetAmpedX is doing rather well in Korea or at least well enough to have content being constantly pumped-in and... is Onigiri dying as well? that would really suck since it seems that C$ role playing games are way more "alive" that their PvP games, is not like i hate Cosmic Break, i've been playing it for years, but i get along more with PvE games that with PvP ones so i don't have anything to grieve about it dying, it had many years to implmenent GAX/GA2/Cosmic Break Adventures/C21 collabs, hell if they managed to put more effort on their Onigiri/Cosmic Commander collabs that just gacha they might've kept people until probably 2025 that also goes to their other games, they could've also tried to have Vtubers or make collabs to promote gacha games but LazFlamme already made a good point anyways

Yes, The end of Cosmic Break, also Cosmic Break is going down on a very low note, instead of turning the RT shop into UC along with their gacha then enabling all their past gacha and dropping the price to 1 to let players have the time of their life or hell even releasing the proper bosses, including the event ones and Arks to be bought, even if they were downscalled and part-locked, they just kind of keep the server as dead as usual, GA2 barely cares by placing a few gacha accessories (the gear that work as weapons) for 10k WIN (non-cash currency) and CB2 have 3 UC gachas for moes, also R.I.P. Futara's effort

Most of the work he did was for C21 and his map editor was nice for the time the problem is no one wants to take the time to make a map because the only way to play on it is to team fight so good luck getting a good group of people to join the team fight just to play on your map.

Iirc he was using some sort of program to forcefully translate both C21 and CB

with that, cosmic break is dead.



but, many of us know its coming back as cosmic break universal in some months.

you can just play other stuffs or give c21 a shot while waiting for its revival.

See you guys in the new CB. I'll miss The HERO and The VILLAIN (Astralyzer and Vestia) but we might see them again if this new CB works well.

same, I especially hope the game gets far more stable mostly in playerbase retention...
in the meantime i'm gonna remake my stage editor tutorial to publish it as a steam guide
(the core knowledge needed for stage editor is just a good grasp of the game's flow, anyway - something I lack, and planning to ask some friends to help with)

edit: think the very basics of cb related to designing a stage (vertical windtunnel launches you about 8-10 units of height, airs can climb 3 blocks while other types 2, large bots cannot squeeze through small cave entrance (pic)) stays the same...



while the starting bot meta would be different, designing bots by taking recent meta like bikers, hilti, is a bad idea.
so i'm just assuming the starting meta is crimrose with a wide beam gun

if that's how it's gonna start i can see us having another initium/seraph fc player drop off, our power creeps were sudden. still kind of bitter how many times they buffed initium, they really really dug them. i wonder if resources are gonna be a problem since the more powerful you were the easier they were to get and during bazaar weaker players were selling them dirt cheap to our nastiest to exclusively build the new cancer right away.

Oh shit. I come back here in November long after its dead. I didn't get to say goodbye to my bots. T_T.
