Honestly, the first series had something that the others never really had. Tamers was close, but stil felt lacking.

Not sure about how they plan to continue the original, when 02 was supposed to be that. But if ditches the 02 stuff and keeps the original feel, why not.

I like how they put the whistle sound in the end of the video.

Well guess its time to rewatch all of digimon Over again for maybe the 7th or 8th time idk lost track around last year but i definitely know it was more than 6

I liked Digimon until they changed the show into the same 30 minute advertisement bullshit as PKMN. Not sure if interested.

After Sailor Moon making a comeback, now we have Digimon making a comeback! This is splendid!

Next must be Mila Superstar! Or the Roses of Versailles!

Kinda wish that they made a season with Ryo's story, since his story also works as Ken's background story and they also mention the digital world's origins later.
In Tamers anime he seems like a non important character, but he only travelled through time and universes to save everyone's ass.

well i enjoyed it though i really don't understand why the people hate the digimon, it's just like they suddenly forgot the whole fight from "revenge of diaboromon" (only using it as an example since it's the one i can think of being closest to Tri timewise)
also interested in seeing more about what happened in that scene at the start of the movie with the characters from 02

I mean Digimon, unlike Pokemon, actually had a plot and a conclusion! And it deals with serious themes like Death, Love, Faith, and War.

Pokemon, on the other hand, has a linear story and is a never ending series with the same central plot in almost every episode, and it doesn't deal with those sorts of themes. Which is why it isn't as awesome as Digimon.

im talking about the normal people who in that movie seem to be fine with the digimon fighting but here they seem to hate them

well seeing imperialdramon and ken just makes me want to know even more what happened to the characters from 02

it surprised me a bit how i got excited during the fight and digivolutions

It's weird how takeru and hikari werent with the other 02 characters

This movies better do something later to fix the continuity since they are bringing back Kaiser.

They show Millenniumon being the cause of Kaiser's existence in 02, but it was in a very lite way that didn't really explain the whole deal, which is the wonderswan games.
It wouldn't be a big deal, except the fact that Millenniumon did travel in time in the last game, Brave Tamer, and he actually travels to the future, where he's defeated.

One of the issues with 02 and the wonderswan games, is that in the wonderswan first game, Ryo saved the Adventure kids that had been captured, but this is never mentioned in the anime, but then in 02 they show the same exact thing that the second wonderswan game shows as the reason why Ken turns evil, Millenniumon, who then never matters in the anime (besides the fact that Ken creates one of the Digimons that then is fused to create Millenniumon).
And in Brave Tamers, many bosses in the game are Wormmon armor digivolutions, as the game shows that Ken turned evil and turned against his friends (which didn't happen in the games because they are before 02 and it's shown because Millenniumon went to the future, so we are going from before the events of 02 to after the events of 02). There's also clones of multiple enemies, including Kaiser, created by Millenniumon. As realities are all screwed up in that game, Ryo ends up helping other digidestined kids (and maybe Tamers too, I don't know for certain).

Bringing back Kaiser can mean that he's either a fake, or that anything that turns people evil makes Ken go back to his Kaiser persona, but still, honestly, not making use of the gap between seasons as the current evil sounds like a waste to me, even more when the plot is going with the infection again, something that Millenniumon could do.

I really wouldn't mind if Millenniumon was actually the 'cause of it all, but this was a Ryo-less reality where the kids didn't need his help (because it's hard to put Ryo back into the story at this point). After all, Millenniumon did exist in 02, and he actually never got to be killed, he's actually alive after the last game, which is why in Tamers Ryo has to keep cyberdramon from going mental, after all, he's Millenniumon (he was Ryo's partner but Ryo never got him until the end of the last game, and he had turned evil), so he has to be kept under control.


Also, Leomon curse, lel. They can't top Tamers though, Leomon's death in Tamers was the best death because he had a Tamer, which made it have a really heavy impact.

Koichi being brutally killed by the demonic Lucemon was a lot worse, especially since Koichi was human.

Also, Yukio Oikawa's death was really darn harsh too.


Just once again proves that kids shows CAN have character dying horribly on screen with their friends and colleagues watching, just as long as their deaths aren't bloody and gorey.

Digimon had death scenes like that, and it was still for kids BECAUSE NO BLOOD!

episode 3 kokuhaku is out

watched it. Anticipating next set of episodes for mah man, Mugendramon.

Funny that they use Mugendramon, who was fairly weak in Adventure but is who actually makes 02 happen and that really should lead this movies to retcon Adventure, 02 and Tamers.
Well, he was used plenty of times to represent the enemy, despite that Adventure just makes him look way too weak.

They seem to borrow a lot of elements from other series/games. Alphamon in World DS was the enemy, he thought that humans were a threat so he tried to eliminate them (in this case, we don't know why he's doing it). Despite that they don't state how far the reset goes (or how it actually works, since not everybody seems to be affected), D-Reaper in Tamers wasn't exactly an evil thing, it was meant to protect the digital world from overloading as it would reach it's ram limit, but that meant to reset the digital world back to nothing, the problem was that while the ram limit expanded, D-Reaper did not change so it was still using the old limit as a threshold. X-Program also has a similar function.

Though gotta wonder, couldn't this lead to the series to retcon itself? While in the Adventure series all enemies are from the digital world, the original kids, which never appear, fought something that came from outside of the digital world, a foreign being, which was defeated and sealed. Despite that they show the original ones having the same partners as the Adventure kids, they aren't exactly the same, or supposedly aren't. The binary code being overwritten could just be that "great evil" coming back and since it's a foreign being it perhaps changes things around it, and if they can reset the world and make the Digimon lose their memory, that could've happened before as well, leading to the digimon saying that the Adventure kids being their first partners and to how the original kids are never relevant and never show up, the digital world they knew was saved but yet, gone.
That way it explains what was the great evil that appeared before (which was interesting that they state that it came from outside of the digital world).

Or it could just be yggdrasil going crazy, again.
