Right. I'll do another one about myself, since the last one seemed too easy:


1: I've translated a complicated medical abstract to english for a serious project for free.
2: I've tutored children who needed help in learning as voluntary work.
3: I've lead a group of 27 teenager boyscouts in a national boyscout camp for a week.

1 is the lie.

2 sounds like something gud gai Ger would do.

And iirc you were associated with the Boy Scouts in some way, weren't you?

Yeah. Indeed i am.

And saddly 3 was the lie.

When my mother was working on an important essay for her bachelor with a group, they needed to translate their abstract to english. So my mother asked me if i could translate, since i was the one who spoke english best in our family at the time (and still am ). I needed to do some heavy reasearching to find out the apropriate terms, how to address results, to be faithful to the work. I believe i did well, and when i delivered, she mentioned that she would probably review it with a proper interpreter, but thanked my help nonetheless. I asked for feedback, since it would help my english in case of a flaw or something.

The feedback never came, nor did i found out if she used it. All she showed us was her final note of 90% on her bachelor. I was glad, but also sad because she never mentioned anything about what i asked of her.

As for 3, while i do work in the boyscouts, there is a course on which one must take to recieve proper training and legal permission to lead and teach boyscout groups. While i worked with them with trust and effort, even showing some skill management, positive thinking and proper discussing, the higher-ups at the course reccomended my chief that i should not further attend the course beyond the first class.

So yes, i can help the boyscouts, i can make wonderfull moments that make them think and learn, and yet i cannot hold legal responsibility for them on camping trips until i'm deemed worthy, which means losing all the fun memories at camp. Which will probably take some time.

I worked part-time at MSR in Santa Ysabel. We did all kinds of batshit crazy stuff on our spare time, and we had these awesome prank wars. At one point, we locked one of the volunteer Venture scouts in a port-a-potty and left him in there overnight; he had the last laugh, though. The bastard dug a pitfall trap outside the door that lead to the latrine, and then dug an irrigation ditch from the latrine to said pit-fall trap. Someone went out to use the facilities at like 1 in the morning, and fell in.
